Seeing Jesus for What He Really Did for Us

I read an enlightening illustration from a book called “Knowing God as Father” (1996), written by James Robison, host of Life Today. In the illustration, people were on an airliner. The Pilot had a message that was drastically needed to be told to all the plane’s passengers. The message was that the plane was destined to crash eventually at an unknown time. The Pilot having to tell the people what was about to happen, sent a Messenger that would correctly tell it like it is. The Messenger wanted all the people to be saved from the unfortunate end of the plane. Thus he told the people to put parachutes on to be ready to leave the plane safely before it crashed. However some people did not believe the message about the plane crashing for it was operating smoothly and very well at that very moment. As a result there were some people with parachutes on and some people without parachutes. The wise ones with the parachutes on looked like fools to the ones who believed that the plane was not going to crash at all. In this illustration the plane crashing represents our life ending on earth and it also represents the world coming to an end. The parachutes represent faith in God and in the Messenger. Because of James Robison inspirational words I was able by the grace of God to add more clarified information to the horrendous situation of people’s lives and the plane. So the illustration of people on the plane and whether to put the parachutes on or not is to be credited to James Robison who originally wrote it first in his book. You may check his book out on his website “Life Today“.

See Jesus for What He Really Did for Us

Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

1) In this illustration the plane represents two different entities, our life on earth and the earth itself. Consequently, the plane going down illustrates our lives ending on earth and the end of the earth itself. The plane is an object made of matter. It is made to be used for the convenience of mankind. Just as our physical body and the earth are matter, we have them to use for structure and form for our lives on earth. But the truth is objects do not last forever; so planes, bodies, and the earth will not last forever. Think of an actual plane; imagine people thinking that one plane would last forever. People would die from crashing if man thought and tried to use the same plane forever. Like the plane, our physical life and the earth will not last eternally.

2) The Pilot of the plane and also the “Pilot, Caption” of the world is God. Everything is under his control, yet he doesn’t control people. People have free will just as people on the plane have free will in how they treat themselves and in how they treat and act towards others.

3) The air on the plane represents the Holy Spirit. In which he provides life to all mankind. (Like God breathed life into Adam after forming Adam out of the dust.) However just as the air is invisible, so is the Holy Spirit. Sad to say though, people find it easier to believe in the air and not in God. This is because the effects are more immediate and drastic when the air is taken out of our physical environment; all people on earth would die immediately. Even so, there are evidences around the world that God is not believed. Invisible like the air and like the Holy Spirit, there are invisible evil spirits called Satan and his demons. These evil influences rob some people from the love our Creator – God has for us and also from the love of parents have towards their children. Also invisible are angels God created to do God’s will and to help people sometimes.
The wicked influences, Satan and his demons make mayhem and havoc in some areas of the world and also unfortunately in lives of people around the world.

4) The parachutes on the plane represent our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Faith is needed because our lives and this earth will not last forever. So some people on the plane already have their parachutes on. But some believe that the plane will last forever. Those who believe the plane will last, see the people with their parachutes on and totally think they are totally insane, or so to say not in their right minds. But the ones with the parachutes on have belief in the Messenger and in the Word of the Pilot, knowing that the Messenger and the Word of the Pilot is Truth and the plane will not last forever. So which people are not in their right minds? The people who know the plane won’t last, or the people who think the plane will last forever? Also sad to say, a deceiver named Satan has made some cheap, fake imitations and fraudulent replicas of the wonderful, saving mercy and grace of God in Jesus. These replicas are called something else, and give deceptive facts to deceive people. These other beliefs may seem to be near-to-truth facts but they are deceptive to deceive people from knowing the honest TRUTH. They may seem to be near-to-truth, but is not the wonderful, loving Truth, our Lord Jesus. This is like comparing true gold and false gold. They both may look the same but ONE IS ONLY WORTH HIS WEIGHT IN GOLD. Gold that weighs as much as the vastness of all the universes that exist. These replicated parachutes (faith) also have holes in them. The holes are there because the fake beliefs are not made of the same life-saving Substance of REAL Truth. Anything fake and anything man-made doesn’t last forever and won’t cut it when the plane goes down. The deceived people are then doomed when they open their parachutes and find that their beliefs didn’t save them at all, for eternity. The descriptive information is exactly clear and precise to what the fate of people without our Jesus will be. Jesus is the only One Who gives our true safety in the end of our lives and in the end of the world. At the beginning of this illustration, I quoted Genesis 1:1; the very first verse in the Bible. Just like the Bible and this chapter have an end, people’s lives and this earth also have ends. For every beginning, there is an end. So I ask this question for people to think, why would it be different for the world to not end? So how can the earth be so different from all of creation? Even science predicts the end of the earth. I pray to God, that your eyes may see and your ears hear, in the truth of our Lord Jesus, in his name, amen!
