HOW TO STAND OUT IN YOUR GENERATION
Hebrew 11 has been called the faith’s hall of fame. These heroes of faith became famous not because of their earthly possessions, but because of their faith exploit. By their faith great things were accomplished through them. Though they were dead but their faith still speaks.
Roman 15 verse 4: “For whatever things were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope”. These heroes of faith risk their lifes to accomplish the plan and purpose of God.They were perfect examples to follow, they stood tall above the perversity of their generations.
Are you willing to stand out like these heroes? Then one thing is needful, “FAITH”. Faith will make you do what others see as foolishness. It will not only make you standout but will also help you to fulfill God’s purpose for your life. Faith moves you out of your comfort zones.
Heb 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Note this: “For he who comes to God must believe that He is. Rahab the harlot was a gentile who had never had encounter with the God of the Israelites, but she had heard there is a God in heaven that divided the red sea for the Israelites, defeated the two kings of Amorite etc. She risked her life by saving the lifes of the two spies sent to Jericho. Rahab had to make a choice. A pagan, a Canaanite and a prostitute, yet Rahab was willing to risk everything she had for a God she barely knew. A gentile, prostitute made it into faith’s hall of fame. Faith makes ordinary people to do the extraordinary.
Hebrew 11:31 “By faith the harlot Rahab did not PERISH with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with peace. You do not know what difference your faith will make in your life.
Faith is acting on God’s words.
Let faith move you into action. Faith without works is dead, the work is the action. Write the book , wax the album, take a step to reach out to those in urban area, e.t.c. Rahab did not let fear affect her faith in God’s ability to deliver. She was not only delivered, her family members were also saved with her. What a great faith! Your faith will not only save you but your entire household.
Matthew 1:5 “Salmon begot Boaz by RAHAB; Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse and Jesse begot DAVID the King. Rahab became a wife and through her lineage Jesus Christ came into the earth. God sees beyond her fault. Rahab’s faith attracted God to the extent that God was not distracted by her fault. Her faith made her stand out in her generation. Don’t use your faith only for car, house, promotion, visa, job, e.t.c.
Hebrew 11:4; By faith Abel “OFFERED” to God a more excellent sacrifice. Abel stood out when he was willing to offer what his brother could not.
Hebrew 11:7; By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen moved with “GODLY FEAR” prepared an ark for the saving of his household. If you were to be Noah, what will be going on in your mind? When God told him to do what had never happen in the history of man, but he was moved with godly fear.
Hebrew 11:8; By faith Abraham OBEYED when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive an inheritance.
Hebrew 11:20; By faith Isaac BLESSED Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
Hebrew 11:24; By faith Moses, when he became of age REFUSED, to called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. By faith Moses, forsook Egypt, he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the first born should not touch them.
Hebrew 11:32-35 “And what more shall I say? For the time would fail me of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephtah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets, who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouth of lion, quench the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword ,out of weakness were made strong became valiant in battle turned to flight the armies of the aliens . Women received dead raised to life again…..
