John 2
New King James Version (NKJV)

2 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. 2 Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. 3 And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”

Greeting my beloved brothers and sisters in the Lord,
As I continue with the series, "Turn your water into wine" the Lord has me expounding on the metaphor... water into wine. Water is a substance that is necessary for life just as the Holy Spirit is necessary for super natural life. Therefore we all need water to live however; to have life and life more abundantly we all need the Living Water or the Wine that God pours out into our lives. Looking at the comparisons in regards to water and wine, water sustains life but wine gives abundance or joy to life. Many of us are living in the water of life but we do not have the wine of life. As I stated in my earlier discourse in part I of this series that there can not be a wedding party without the wine. Have you considered, where is the wine in your life? Have you lost your joy, the excitement and the expectation of the Lord doing great things in your life? Could it be you are just like the water pots full of water but lacking the essence of what makes life joyful and celebratory. They Jews had the water pots there because of tradition, just as many of us attend churches because of tradition rather than as a result of a relationship with the True and Living God, we have the water but we lack the wine. Our religious doctrine forces us to think of wine as a intoxicating drink rather than God who fills us with His intoxicating Spirit. The scripture declares."17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit (Ephesian 5:18). The word dissipation means wasting by misuse therefore God don't want you to be drunk with wine that would be a waste...hence the term wasted. Instead he implores us to be fill with the wine he provides which is His Spirit, which allows us to enjoy life, sings songs, make melodies in our heart to God and give thanks unto God for His amazing grace! Isn't it time for God to give you joy for your ashes, turn your woe into wow, turn your tears into triumph and turn your water into wine! You have not because you ask not!
