Chosen (Acts 22:14)
“Then he said, “The God of our fathers has chosen you that you should know His will and see the Just One, and hear the voice of His mouth.”
These words were spoken to Paul (then Saul) by the man of God, Ananias, who was sent to pray for Paul soon after he first met Jesus. Today, these words are coming to you from the heart of Abba and with His special commission!
You are chosen. John 15:16 records the words of Jesus who said: “You did not choose Me but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain”. God knew you before the foundations of the world and chose you to be His own. You were always on His mind and always in His plan. He has appointed you and anointed you for a purpose and for the fulfillment of a promise. He chose you to be a fruitful, glorious reflection of His love and power. It is no coincidence that you are where you are, and reading this message, because God has a unique calling and message for you. You did not stumble into this walk with God – He chose you! He loves you and wants you as His very own!
You were chosen to know God’s will. It feels so good to know that the Lord Himself set out to draw us to Himself and that He wants to make His will known to each of us. Perhaps you have been experiencing some uncertainty or confusion about steps you are meant to take in life, but know today that God will give you clear direction. His general will is revealed in His Word, and His specific will for your life will be made known as you seek Him and hear His voice. According to Psalm 25:14, “The Lord confides in those who fear him and He makes His covenant known to them”. The awesome Lord of the universe is looking for real friends with whom He can share the secrets of His heart. He has chosen you and me to fellowship with Him, to hear the beating of His heart, and to know and understand the way He moves. What a powerful privilege!
You were chosen to see God and hear His voice. Not many people have physically seen God even through dreams and visions, but it is possible to “see” Him everywhere – in the beauty of His creation, in the glory of a sunset, in the wonder of a baby’s birth. God is so real and awesome, and His reflection and signature are on everything in and around us. Everything He made carries His DNA and His resemblance! We can see and hear Him through His Word and through His voice within our hearts. People often say they never hear from God but that may be only because they have not stopped to listen, or to tune in to the soft voice within their hearts. In Jeremiah 33:3, God says: “Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things you do not know.” He has promised to answer us when we call Him, and to give us direction. If you are hungry to see and hear more of the things of Heaven, talk to the Holy Spirit today and ask Him to open your spiritual eyes and ears. He came to make Jesus and the Father real to us and to draw us into the fullness of our heavenly inheritance.
Friend, God loves and delights in you. He chose you and set you apart to be His own. He has dreams and plans for you which far exceed your every expectation. They are plans for greatness and glory, for victory and strength. You are the head and not the tail. You were born to win. You were born to conquer! I pray today that you will know how very precious you are to Daddy God and that He called you into relationship with Him. You are His Chosen. You are His favored child! Seek His face and tune in to hear His voice today. He has so much He wants to say to you!
