Making God Approved Decisions By "Walking In The Spirit"
Times were very tough. David's finances were running out. No job offer met David's financial need at its lowest level. David was offered a very high paying job which would place him on 24-7 call. He would not be able to decline any calls (even in "State of Emergency") weather.
David enjoy this field of employment. He also greatly needed significant income.
Let's Analyze David's Two Areas Of Concern:
1) Wonderment: David didnot know where his next job or income was coming from.
2) No Financial Income: Again, David Was Quite Mindful Of This "Urgent" Plight (Matthew 14:20-32).
God's Greatness In All Our Concerns
God tells His earthly children not to worry. In fact, God Promises To provide the daily needs of any who seek His Kingdom and Righteousness First (Matthew 6:25-34).
How Does A Christian Seek God's Kingdom And Righteousness First?
God is a Spirit and those Worshipping Him must Worship Him in Spirit and Truth. The Apostle Paul urges Christian to "Walk In Spirit" and avoid Anxiety and other Fleshly concerns (John 4:24; Galatians 5:15-26; Philippians 4:6-8).
Let's Utilize The Biblical "Walking In The Spirit" Criteria For David's Financial And Employment Concern(s):
I) Ask God's Holy Spirit To Remove Your Sinful Thoughts, Ways & Tendancies (Galatians 5:1-26; 1 Corinthians 6:9-13; 1 John 2:15-17):
When We Ask God's Holy Spirit To Renew Our Minds And Ways God Gives Us His Peace. As Long We've Done Our Part(s) We Can Be At Peace.
In The Above Case God Will Do One Of Two Things:
1) Bless Any Seeds That We Have Prayerfully Planted Or
2) Unsuspectingly Bless Us From A Source We Had Nothing To Do With
II) You Must Ask God's Holy Spirit To Renew Your Human Mind To The Mind Of Jesus Christ (Romans 10:1-12; Philippians 2:1-12; 4 Gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke, John & The New Testament):
We Must Ensure That In Whatever We're Doing That God Gets The Glory. Nothing Should Take Us Away From Daily Growing With God. We Must Regularly Do God's Will.
III) You Must Cast Down Any Thing That Opposes Or Disagrees With God's Holy Word (2 Corinthians 10:1-12):
Jesus taught Christians that we can not serve two Masters. In God's Eyes: Employment is merely a means to an End. A Christian's Focus is to be placed on God and God Alone. Any Employment expecting a "24-7" Devotion even during a "State(s) Of Emergency" is Tantamount to Idolatry, Greed And/Or Obsessive Behavior (Psalm 123:2; Matthew 6:24; Matthew 6:25-34; Exodus 20:3; 1 Corinthians 10:14; Proverbs 3:5-6; Hebrews 13:5-6).
V) You Must Only Think On What The Holy Spirit Tells You To Think On. These "Spirit" Things Are Listed Here (Philippians 4:6-8):
Ensure that your line of work doesnot place your focus on this world and/or its ungodliness. Again, your place of employment should just be a means to provide your needs. Anything else is Godly disobedience (1 John 2:15-17; Matthew 6:25-34; John 16:8-11, 20, 33; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Luke 4:5-6; John 17:9, 14-16, 25; 1 Timothy 6:7-12).
VI) Ask God's Holy Spirit To Help You Cultivate Fruit Of The Holy Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, Gentleness, Goodness, Faith, Meekness, Temperance (Galatians 5:22-23):
The Only way a Christian can Cultivate The Fruit Of The Holy Spirit is through Daily Bible Study, Prayer And Association With The Christian Faith (Profession) (1 Timothy 6:7-12).
VII) Ask The Holy Spirit To Help You Put On The Whole Armour Of God. With This Armour On And Walking In The Holy Spirit You Can Defeat Satan And This Ungodly World (Ephesians 6:10-18):
The Only way a Christian can Put On The Whole Armour Of God is through Daily Bible Study, Prayer And Association With The Christian Faith (Profession) (1 Timothy 6:7-12).
VIII) Ensure That You Are Learning And Cultivating Your Personal Spiritual Gifts (John 3:1-14; John 14:26; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Acts 2:1-30; 1 Corinthians 12:1-28):
The Only way a Christian can Cultivate Their God Given Spiritual Gifts Is Through Daily Bible Study, Prayer And Association With The Christian Faith (Profession) (1 Timothy 6:7-12).
Summary Of Seeking And Obtaining God's Presence & Help During "Times Of Concern"
During Times Of Anxiety Or Concern:
1) A Christian Must Not Decrease Their Spiritual Growth With The Lord
2) A Christian Must Trust That God Is Faithful And Has Promised To Provide (Hebrews 13:5-6; 1 John 4:8)
3) A Christian's Association And/Or Employment Must Not Stand In God's "Place Of Authority" (Matthew 24:12-22)
4) A Christian Should "Take All Their Concerns To The Lord" Seeking His Wisdom (James 1:5; Psalm 55:22; Matthew 11:28-30; Proverbs 3:5-7)
How God May Bless You When You Obey Him And Seek His Kingdom & Righteousness First
A) God May Bless The "Seeds" You Planted
B) God May Bless You From Another Source
C) God Will Bless You With Wisdom When You Ask For It (James 1:5; Matthew 7:7)
D) God Will Bless You With Favor (YES Will Seem To Follow You)
E) God Will Bless You With Grace (What "Murphy's Law" Attempts To Close - God Will Keep Open)
Once David refocused his attention on the "Spirit" he stopped worrying. David became convinced that God was in control and David's needs would definitely be met.
