I took refuge in the Lord,
For He is loved and adored;
But how could you say to me,
Like a bird to the hills flee.
Wicked people bend their bows,
While the battle still goes;
They set their arrows against strings,
To shoot as the darkness rings.
When foundations of life,
Are hammered with so much strife;
What can the righteous person do,
To be able to get through.
The Lord is in His temple,
Watching over the people;
From His throne up in Heaven,
From where blessing are given.
His eyes have a complete view,
And is able to construe;
Everything taking place,
As everyone does face.
The Lord tests everyone,
See if they can get it done;
For just seeing which of us,
Are really and truly righteous.
He hates the wicked people,
Who claim to know the Gospel;
The ones lusting violence,
Filled with sex crazed insolence.
He rains down with a fire,
On those with such desire;
For the cup of scorching wind,
They drink for what they have sinned.
