We’re getting baby chicks tomorrow. Can’t wait! We love babies: all kinds, animal or human. Delivering babies over 35 years, my husband Lee enjoys new life. He finished the goat pen last month and looking forward to raising them as well. You know, I’ve heard chickens gather their young and hide under a shelter when they sense a storm brewing. The eagle, however, loves a great wind. It flies headlong into the turmoil allowing the fierceness of the gales to lift it higher.
Eagles benefit from ‘updrafts’ coming off hills and mountains which help them gain altitude and sets them up for a long flight to another location, especially when migrating great distances north or south.
I wondered---am I a chicken [mentality] or a mighty Eagle? I admit. I’m chicken in nature. When vexed with trouble, say, in our family; I want to go to bed and pull the covers over my head. Hiding brings comfort somehow in the midst of heartaches but proves a disengaging approach and doesn’t accomplish anything. Problem is---it makes things worse.
The Apostle Paul urges us to have an ‘eagle-like’ transformation with renewing of the mind as the only solution for inward peace “Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you] (Romans 12:2 Amplified).
I don’t want to miss God’s best, how about you? Allowing the Word to penetrate our thoughts will bring good results. What do you think? Really. What are you meditating on right now? As a man thinks so is he (Proverbs 23:7). We become what we think. Ready to soar? Let's go.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
