“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40: 31
Patience is a virtue; it just isn’t most peoples. Waiting for anything is usually challenging, but perhaps the most difficult wait of all is waiting for the Lord to answer one’s prayer.
There have been times in everyone’s life that the Lord has answered before they were even aware of the need. But other times, His answers seem to take forever. In situations like this it helps to remember that His timing is not the same as ours, He can see the whole situation and knows best. Therefore, He alone knows the perfect time in which to answer.
The greater promise to remember during times of wait is found in Isaiah 40:31. That after going to Him in prayer, one can be assured that no matter the length of the wait, He will give the strength to endure. We can rely on Him; He doesn’t need us to jump in and save the day, He and He alone knows when to answer the prayer. Our part is to wait patiently for His answer and or directions, then and only then will we mount up with wings like eagles, run and not grow weary, walk and not faint.
