My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Hosea 4:6. God says His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, why? Because they rejected knowledge. God asked Jeremiah, is there no balm or Gilead? No there was a balm in Gilead.
Satan is taking advantage of the church because God’s people are not ignorant of his devices.
God will not lower his standard for any man, we are the one to come up to the level he desires for us.
It is a pity that satan playing on the ignorant of the church and church itself does not come to the awareness of his strategies.
James 4:7 Resist the devil and he will flee from you .from the above statement, the bible says we should
RESIST THE DEVIL NOT TO FIGHT THE DEVIL
God said we should resist the devil but today most Christians are looking for demon to chase.
Most of us are engaged in fighting the imaginary battle, we are only to fight the fight of faith. paul says in 2 Timothy 4;7 I have fought the good fight, I have finish the race, I have kept the faith .
Many are fighting the battle Christ has conquered 2000 years ago on the cross of calvary.paul said he fought the good fight . paul told jude to contend earnestly for the faith which was once delivered to the saints.
Timothy 6;12 Fight the good fight of faith ……..
Paul also admonished Timothy to fight for his faith .
Ignorance is darkness and it surely causes pain. Many are in captivity of the wiles of the enemy
Bible says we should submit to God and resist the devil .you cannot resist the devil without you firstly submitting to God.The WISDOM is in SUBMISSION
Eph 4:27….. “nor give place to the devil”
2 Corins 2:11…. “for we are not ignorant of his devices problem is in submission ,the devil has made church not be aware of this fact.
Many want to resist the devil without first submitting to God. If you do not submit to God Devil will not submit to you. Devil only obeys those who obey God. “He gives grace to the humble”. It takes humility to obey God ordinances and precepts. It is only your submission to God that will make devil to run.
Matt 4:1-6 Then Jesus was led up by the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. When the tempter came to him, said “if you are the son of God , command that these stones become bread. But he answered and said it is written “ Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceed from the mouth of God. The devil took him up into the Holy city, set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him “if you are the son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written “ He shall give His angels charge over you and in other hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
Here comes the tempter, the devil wanting to take advantage of Jesus, He was not ignorant of his devices, Jesus Christ submitted himself to the written word to resist the advances and opportunity devil brought to him. Jesus would have forfeited God’s if He had allow pride to dominate him. Though He himself was God but the humble himself to resist the devil.
Matt. 4:11 “Then he devil left Him and behold angels came and ministered to him.
Jesus enjoyed angelic ministry because of his humility. Jesus did not have seven prayer points, he did not speak in tongues and he did not call prayer warriors. Devil left Jesus alone. A person has not shown true obedience , if he or she has never had an opportunity to disobey. Deut. 8:2 “God led Israel into the desert to humble and test them . God wanted to see whether or not His people would really obey him. Remember your convictions are only strong if they hold up under pressure. Jesus was able to resist the devil not because he knew the scripture but because he also obeyed it. The devil, also called Satan also tempted Eve in the garden of Eden and here he tempted Jesus in the desert.
Salam is a fallen angel. He is real, not symbolic and constantly fighting against those who follow and obey God. If Jesus had given in, his mission on earth to die for our sins and give us the opportunity to have eternal life- would have been lost. When temptation seem especially strong or when you think you can rationalize giving in, consider when satan may be trying to block God’s purpose for your life or for someone else’s life. Jesus was tempted in the desert here he was tired, alone and hungry and most vulnerable.
The devil’s temptation focused on the three crucial areas 1) physical needs and desires 2) possession and power 3) Pride.
Heb 4; 15 says that Jesus had been tempted in every way, just as we are test without sin. Jesus chose not to use his divine power to satisfy his natural need for food. Food, hunger and eating are good but the timing was wrong. If we indulge in sex before marriage or if we steal to get food, we are trying to satisfy God given desires in wrong ways. Remember many of your desires are normal and good but God wants you to satisfy them in the right way and the right time.
Note that Satan has memorized scripture, but he failed to obey it. Knowing and obeying God’s scripture helps us to follow God’s desire rather than the devil. You may want to ask God to do something to prove his existence or his love for you. Remember God wants us to live by faith not by magic. Do not try to manipulate God by asking for signs. Note: Devil wanted to try Jesus with what he did to Adam and Eve telling them if they could eat the forbidden fruit they will be like God. Devil played on their ignorance. They have forgotten that they were created in the image and likeness of God. Devil is a deceiver. He is still using the same old trick up and down. Remember temptation is not a sin but to give in is sin. Satan is out to get believers out of God’s will. Submit yourself to God constantly. Never let go of his lordship over you. Adam and Eve fell and death came through their disobedience, but thanks be to Jesus who came to restore man to God and never yielded to the devil’s temptation. Bible says “Affliction shall not come twice”. Devil succeeded with Adam and Eve but was defeated by Jesus through the power of God. Halleluyah!
Remember if you lack knowledge, everything you see will attract you, not everything that glitters is gold. Evil will always present itself to you. You cannot prevent bird flying over you, but you can prevent it making nest over you.
