God cares for you is a familiar verse. Christ questions, “Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?” The presence of Jesus did perform miracles. A word from Him did wonders. A touch of His garment pronounced healing. While there was a multitude of sick lying near the pool at Bethesda why did Jesus Christ take care of just one man? Jesus could have cared for all the sick there isn’t it?
Jesus asked him, “Do you want to be made well?” What was exceptional in this particular man to receive Jesus’ attention? Why did Jesus take care of him alone? The sick man answered, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me.” Although abandoned, he still had faith and took efforts to enter the pool. Records don’t reveal whether he rolled or jumped. His mustard seed like faith echoed, “Someday, I’ll be cared for.”
Actually, Jesus went to celebrate a feast of the Jews. However, the sick man’s faith propelled Christ into action. God saw his faith coupled with his action and said to him, “Rise, take up you bed and walk.” This man walked, while the other sick people were still focused on the waters of the pool. If you think you are helpless but still have faith as that of a mustard seed then God will definitely honor your faith and your action in exercising that faith. God is a timely Helper and cares for the helpless.
