Romans 7:24-25 says O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. My subject is your deliverance is in God.
Deliverance is liberation and redemption from sin and the wages of it which is death. The bible says the flesh lusts against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh and these are contrary the one to the other so that ye cannot do the things that ye would (Galatians 5:17). For this reason, we need deliverance from our sinful deeds and thought life.
We must take our deliverance personal because it is the only way we will experience the type of walk that God has ordained for us in Christ. I am realizing that in order to walk in deliverance, it must be something that consumes you day, noon and night. It has got to be a priority in the life of the believer. I believe that salvation is instant but deliverance can be a process because certain issues do not dissipate overnight.
If we go back to the world, we become entangled to the world. I am not super spiritual but I know if our minds are not on Christ our deliverance will be in jeopardy. The world needs to experience the deliverance ministry to be set free from the spirit of the world and the puppet master, the devil.
In conclusion, deliverance is in God not in man. There are many wonderful self help books written by established authors in the field of personal development. Although these books are good, they will not help us to overcome sin. These written materials deal with the physical emotional/mental part of man where as the Lord deals with the total man. Amen.
