February 1, 2003 is the date in history that the Space Shuttle Columbia blew up as it reentered the earth's atmosphere, at 12,500 miles per hour. When the space shuttle is in orbit it travels at about 17,000 miles per hour, or 5 miles per second! It has been said that the number of stars in the universe is about equal to the number of sand grains on all the beaches of the world. At 5 miles per second it would take over 200,000 years to go from one grain of sand to another! Psalm 19:1 says, "The heavens declare the glory of God."
How about the earth? Job 26:7 informs us that "God hangs the earth on nothing." Our planet is uniquely and delicately designed to support human life. If the oxygen level, atmospheric transparency, moon-earth gravitational interaction, carbon dioxide level, gravity, water vapor levels, the earth's 24-hour rotation and 23-degree tilt, and even lightning discharge and earthquake activity, were off by just a fraction, there would not be life on earth! Amazing, and people try to believe that this all happened by chance?
Let's break this down even further, to the human body. Psalm 139:13-16 says, "For you formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed, and in your book they were all written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them."
In the February 2014 issue of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC there is a picture of the human brain. It weighs only three pounds and looks like nothing more than a slab of rare meat, but has 100,000 miles of nerve fibers which give rise to everything people think, feel, and perceive. These fibers carry information from one part of the brain to another. Eighty-four percent of all the genes in a person's DNA are active somewhere in this marvelous creation, and just one type of protein in our brain would create data equal to several hundred thousand high-definition movies.
The Divine Intelligence Christians refer to as God has chosen to communicate to the human race, through his divinely-inspired word, the Bible. It came together over a period of 1500 years, written by many different inspired human authors, but has the same themes running throughout from cover to cover, as if it were written by one author, which it was. His name is God, creator and sustainer of the universe and our bodies. Many prophecies have been fulfilled, and some are being fulfilled right now in the current events of our world. The credibility of the Bible is confirmed by both history and archaeology. In their book, I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH FAITH TO BE AN ATHEIST, Norman Geisler and Frank Turek, list 59 historical and archaeological things that confirm the Bible to be true.
Now, here is something else that is very interesting that shows a Divine Intelligence at work. There are 14 foods that resemble the body part they are meant to nourish and maintain for good health. Here are several examples: walnuts, which are good for the brain, are wrinkled with 2 lobes, just like our brain; carrots, which are good for the eyes, when sliced, resemble the pupil and iris; tomatoes, which are good for the heart, have 4 chambers as does our heart, and kidney beans, which are good for one's kidneys, have the same shape as that organ. You can read about all 14 foods on google. Just type in, "14 types of food that uncannily resemble body parts they treat."
What is more amazing than all that has been said is that God has invited each person to have a personal relationship with Him. He wants to intervene in your life, in a good way, patiently through grace and love. Each individual in this vast universe is loved by God. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, Jesus, that whosoever believes on him will not perish but have eternal life." Out of all his vast creation, GOD LOVES YOU. Receive his love today.
