You may have heard the old cliché, "as America goes, goes the world". Is this idiom true in today's world ? One need only pick up a newspaper, tune in the national TV or surf the internet, to answer this question. So, as our country continues down a "path of regret", where do we stand in the scheme of prophecy.

And if you are like me, you probably often wonder if America actually does fit  into prophecy.  Well, the answer just may be in scripture. You see, I just happened to come to a possible conclusion, with respect to my curiosity. It is found in ( Daniel 7:1-28).

I realize that most commentaries don't necessary agree with what I am about to say. However, just place my theory in the mix with all the many other theories. I realize  that Bible prophecy speaks in terms of symbols. And to get a good feel of the scripture, one must think in terms of the middle eastern culture. However, I still believe that all scripture is inspired by the Spirit of God, (2 Timothy 3:16 ). And the old time profits were move by the same spirit (2 Peter 1:21).

In this seventh chapter of Daniel, Daniel had a prophecy dream, concerning certain world powers that would be around when the anti-christ ( the little horn) is revealed, and judged by God.

The first two verses of chapter seven sets the stage. Daniel had a very distributing dream and visions, so important that he stopped to write the dream down (Daniel 7:1). The dream starts out by Daniel seeing the winds stirring up the sea. This must have been some stir (Daniel 7:2).Then, the four beast came up from the sea, as we will discuss (Daniel 7:3).

It is my opinion that these four beast may be four world powers, alive and well during the "end times" as follows :

1- The Lion Beast (Daniel 7:4)- This beast represents the United Kingdom. The Barbary Lion is a national animal of England. Lion was the nickname of England's medieval warrior rulers with a reputation for bravery, such as Richard I of England, known as Richard the Lionheart. Lions are frequently depicted in English heraldry, either as a device on shields themselves, or as supporters. They also appear in sculpture, and sites of national importance, such as Trafalgar Square. The lion is used as a symbol of English sporting teams, such as the England national cricket team.

The first beast's wings represents America. The bald eagle was chosen June 20, 1782 as the emblem of the United States of American, because of its long life, great strength and majestic looks, and also because it was then believed to exist only on this continent. On July 4, 1776, America official broke away from the United Kingdom.

As mentioned before, the Bible is all about interrupting symbols. Ironically , Daniel 7:4 coincides with our Independence Day, celebrating our breaking away from Great Britain, July 4th. (7-4)

2- The Bear Beast (Daniel 7:5)- This beast represents Russia. The Russian Bear is a widespread symbol for Russia, used in cartoons, articles and dramatic plays since as early as the 17th century, and relating alike to Tsarist Russia, the Soviet Union and the present-day Russian Federation.

3- The Leopard Beast- (Daniel 7:6) This beast represents Germany. The question of identifying the Leopard with Germany is advanced by consulting the Encyclopedia Americana where we abruptly realize that a leopard is actually another word for Panther. The leopard "...is more commonly called Panther.

The German people seem to have a particular fondness for the Panther, and we find the term is utilized broadly in Germanic culture. In the German television industry, for example, a major vendor is Panther Electronics. In the military, two prominent
naval vessels (a cruiser and a gunboat) were both named The Panther. Under Hitler's Third Reich, the primary tanks were named.

4- The Roman Empire Beast (Daniel 7:7)- This forth beast had ten horns, which represents the revised Roman kingdom. And out of the ten horns came the little horn, which is the anti-christ.

Also, Daniel Chapter 12  goes on to explain the ancient of days (Daniel 12:9-14), a reference to God as Judge (Isaiah 57:15), and the anti-christ (Daniel 7:8) ( Daniel 7:24-27) who will march to power by over powering three of the Ten nations (Daniel 7:24), will blaspheme God (Daniel 7:25) and will try to change the times and the laws in order to promote his anti-christ program (Daniel 7:25), and will persecute God's saints (Daniel 7:25) for the last three and one-half years of the Tribulation period. And the final form of the Roman world power will be a confederation of ten nations who will arise simultaneously in the Tribulation days.

So, are we living in the last days ? Are the Lions wings actually America ? If so, then these great nations, mention here, may just be getting ready for the seven year Tribulation period, the anti-christ reign, and the judgment of God.

But just prior to this taking place all Christians, those individuals who have received Jesus Christ as their Savior, will have been suddenly, and without any warning, taken out of this world. This is what is referred to as the "rapture" (1 Cor 15:50-54) (1 Thess 4:16-17) (Revelation 4:1).

Are you ready for these miraculous events ? You can be, you know. Simply except God's free grace, by your faith, to pardon your inbred sin brought on all mankind in the Garden of Eden. Please carefully study  (Genesis 3:1-7) and (Romans 5:12-21). Now, since this fall of mankind, all have been born in sin and in need of God's redemption (Romans 3:23). God’s Word clearly and emphatically tells us why the world is in such a pathetic plight: By divine permission Satan tempted Adam and Eve; they sinned, and God has graciously pronounced upon all creation a curse for which He has provided the cure (Romans 11:32) (Romans 5:20).

No one will ever work their way, be good enough on their own, or rely on a family member, to get them to heaven (Ephesians 2:8-9).
