God's Word Will Not Return To Him Void, Encouragement For Bible Teachers

As Bible teachers and bearers of the truth of the Gospel, we may wonder at times if the proclamation of God's Word is doing much good, especially in the culture of today. The verses given below are primarily for the purpose of giving encouragement to those of us who have speaking and teaching ministries. Though many times there may not be any outward or visible results, these verses tell us that God is at work. You and I can review these passages before we speak and claim the power of God's Word over those who hear.

ROMANS 1:16 declares, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, 'The just shall live by faith.'"

I CORINTHIANS 2:4-5 humbly reminds all teachers of the Word of God that "... my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God."

ISAIAH 55:10-11 says "For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My Word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."

II TIMOTHY 3:16 reminds us that, "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

HEBREWS 4:12 boldly states, "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

PSALM 126:5-6 encourages us that "those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He who CONTINUALLY goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him." (emphasis mine)

PSALM 19:7-11 says, "The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they then gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward."

I do agree John. As a Gideon, our motto is Isaiah 55:11. The Lord's Word always brings Truth. What people do with it is their choice, free will. We pray many accept it and receive His overflowing grace, mercy and salvation. But if not, at the great white throne judgment it will be shown the many times His Word was shared with them and rejected or ignored....
