Befitting Eulogy

What words would be befitting your eulogy? I’ve attended funerals where the pastors delivering messages seemed to know exactly the right words to say. Naturally, it helps when the person speaking knew the deceased personally. The relationship enables them to speak from the heart, not merely a script. I’m sure you could have heard a pin drop at the funeral of Old Testament character Joseph.

Speakers could aptly use this phrase repeatedly at his funeral. “The Lord was with him.” What a testimony of faith and intimacy between a man and his God. “But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison (Genesis 39:21KJV).” Joseph did not endure trials alone. “….the LORD was with him; and whatever he did, the LORD made it prosper (Genesis 39:23b NKJ).” Emmanuel, God is with us.
