God Does Provide

Several years ago the Lord had me staying with a friend out in the country. My purpose was to be an intercessor for him and help him enter into what God had in mind. This lasted seven years and was a challenge yet an opportunity to see and experience that when God said that He would take care of us, that He was not kidding.
During this time I lived with little money (I only had as the Lord provided). I had to trust the Lord for everything. I had no vehicle nor income. The bus was over two miles away so leaving was not always very possible. At this particular time we were rather broke and without food. A UPS driver left a box on the porch and I wondered who sent me something. I looked and realized that it was a television and was to go to another house. I felt that I should deliver this to the right place. Upon doing so I found they were having a yard sale. I saw a chain saw in a box disassembled for $3.00 and I bought it. I assembled the saw and it worked great and we used it to cut wood many times. I had it about a year and then sold it for over one-hundred dollars. I found that they were moving and selling out. They asked me if I needed some wood. They had about 6 major stacks of wood planks some eight foot long. They said that I could have it all for free. It took several truck loads to move it all. We were able to pretty much have wood to burn for all winter as there was so much. A friend also came by and bought several boards so this supplied some money for us and a blessing for my friend. The Lord sure had blessed me by having a TV delivered to the wrong address.
Later we found ourselves with an empty pantry. We had no idea how we would have food to eat but just were not really concerned. All the sudden we have a knock on the door. A friend of ours had come over. He said that he could not stand us not having any food (we had not seen him for weeks nor told him we had no food). He went to the car and started bringing in sacks of food. He had spent over two-hundred dollars at the store just to help us. He told me that he did not understand the way that we were living and that he could never do that also, but that he really respected us for doing it. What a blessing from the Lord. I was in tears as God cared and provided for us.
This little story I hope will help someone realize that if you follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and are obedient, then He will provide your needs. The beautiful thing about all this is that we did not provide it. God did! We will never know what God will do until we are out of the way and give up our control. Because our faith and trust was in Him and not in our self, then we got to see God's hand move on our behalf. Praise God for His faithfulness.
