Sometimes it seems that life is one big struggle
I shake my head and try to understand
That as I travel through life’s lonely journey
Sometimes it is a dry and barren land
But Lord, you know our sorrow
Your heart aches when we bleed
In our time of pain, you see our need
Then like streams in the desert
You quench our thirsting heart
Your love overflows us
And fills our every part
So we will touch the hem of your garment
And we will be made whole
Like streams in the desert, you renew our soul
The enemy may rise up against you
And though you may be pressed on every side
Just put your life into the hands of Jesus
In His loving arms, there you can hide
‘Cause Jesus knows your sorrow
His heart aches when you bleed
In your time of pain, He’ll meet your need
Then like streams in the desert
He’ll quench your thirsting heart
Let His love overwhelm you
And fill your every part
So now touch the hem of His garment
And you will be made whole
Like streams in the desert, He’ll renew your soul
It was a pleasure to read your poem, John. I like the title too and know that if we touch the hem of His garment our souls will be renewed like 'Streams in the Desert'.
