The cross is a place of great exchange and may the Lord help us to understand the significance of this and the goodness of the Lord through this.
"Surely He has borne our griefs
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted."
Isaiah 53:4 (NKJV)
Christ took up our sufferings and chose the cross, instead giving us remission for our sins and redemption for our soul.
If only we could understand how priceless is this salvation which we have received free of cost.
God does not just want us to look at the cross as a place of agony and shame for the Son of God Who died for us, instead He wants us to see our victory and the great escape from hell and the goodness and awesomeness of the new life we have received.
Everyone can see the pain on the cross and may prepare themselves to sympathise, yet blessed are they who see the victory on the cross, receive it and worship Him Who gave His all for them.
The ultimate purpose of the cross will be acheived when we receive our redemption with the deepest gratitude and worship God with all of our heart and soul.
Surely the Lord has done a marvelous thing for us and thus we will love Him forever.
