'Though he were a Son,yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered'
Virtues are never imparted they are cultivated.Just as you cannot get a mango tree from the grocery store even so Divine Virtues cannot just be got in a day.We must Learn and not just be a Knowledge Buff.Learning is a Product of Experience and knowing is a function of study. For every knowledge that comes to you God would expose you situations that would allow that knowledge to be put to use.Jesus Learnt obedience, not by going to the synagogue everyday,or by preaching,he learnt it via suffering.Do you know that before Jesus came he himself was the commander?God created all things by Him.
But in order for him to fulfil his glorious destiny God had to subject Him to suffering. To the extent that When his parents came searching for Him,it was recorded that he went down with them and became SUBJECT to them. How?He was learning.
Virtues like Obedience,Patience, and other fruit of the Spirit are cultivated. We Need to ask God in prayer, let's tell Him to expose us to certain situations that woud enable us grow.
Your growth is tied to your experience. No wonder its been said that Experience is the best teacher.Paul handed over Alexander and Hymenaeus to satan not because Paul was wicked but just so that those men may LEARN not to Blaspheme.(1Tim1:20)
Irrespective of your status or attainment,God needs to subject you to certain things so as to make you grow.
Though He were a Son,yet Learned He Obedience by the things He Suffered. You have no excuse.
1:You don't Learn just by Reading or studying but by Experience.
2:Virtues are cultivated and not imparted.
3:God would expose you to situations that would test what you already know.
Central Truth:Your Learning is tied to your Experience.Knowledge is not enough.
Lord,i desire to learn, not just to be filled with knowledge.Expose me to practical situations that would lead to my growth. In Jesus Name.Amen.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
