Many wait for this season in other to celebrate Jesus Christ, in this season there are a lot of road shoes, dramatic presentations in every religious gathering all in a bid to re-enact and honour God because he gave us such a precious gift. The reality is that many have mistaken or replaced the whole essence of Christmas with Father Christmas or Santa Claus at the grotto. This is not in any way to demean or condemn such fun-fare and get-together; rather it is to elevate us to a level of understanding so that we may see what the mind of God conceives for this season.
Typically, Christmas represents the period when the Birth of Christ is celebrated the world over as a National Holiday. We must realise that the implication of the birth of Jesus Christ to the world is more significant than a National Holiday; it’s more than just having a few bowls of Rice and Chicken. Since Christmas represents the Birth of Christ we are actually meant to re-enact the glory, the aura and the Joy that rang in the heavens on the day he was born,
Let us examine the scenarios at His birth: LUKE 2:8-14
In due time Christ was born and angels had to announce from Heaven. There was great joy and praises to God in the Highest because of the Birth of Christ. The only thing that can make the Heavens joyful again in this season is if Christ can be born again though not physically but being born into the souls of sinner and lost. When Jesus preached he said
I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Luke15:7
Jesus Christ appeared on earth not to be served but to serve Humanity; the Son of God came not to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved. We are His Representatives and we should be Mary’s of our time bearing the Seed of God to be seen and experienced by those around you. We are to labour for our unsaved relatives, friends. This period more than ever we should pray the Lord of Harvest that he send labourers into the field. Do you know that anytime a sinner is saved, it actually brings back to the memory of the angels the birth of Jesus Christ because in actual fact the sinner is no more and Christ is now Lord in that Life.
In that Scripture it says:
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
It says: Glory to God in the highest…….
The Church of God must go beyond lip service to acting out in faith. This scripture goes beyond the mere Confession of saying ‘Glory to God’. Confession without Profession is just mere Self Deceit. There’s a way God wants this to be done. He said:
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Now that Jesus has Lighted your Life, it is now time more than ever to Light the Life of others around you. Remember it’s a New Dawn, you are a Perpetual Light, and you’re Full of Dunamis. Rev. Kayode Ijisesan repeatedly made mention of this Scripture:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
You need to demonstrate the Power of God this season; it is time to heal the sick, to visit the orphanages, to clothe the naked, feed the hungry. You must take the responsibility for the working of the Power in other for the Glory of God to ascend to the Highest. Do not deny God the Glory due to Him this season. Jesus is not just going to be born, he has already been born and is now seated on the Right Hand of the Father but much more is the Truth that Christ is in You and He’s the Hope of Glory.
We should no longer tell tales by the moonlight, lets prove to the world that Christ is no longer in the manger but that his life exists within this earthen vessel.
Later on in that Scripture it says: and on earth peace……..
At this point in History many countries of the world are in distress, poverty, wars, natural disasters etc. We are to pray for them. Just like the Scripture says ‘Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem’. Remember there was a Prophecy that preceded the Birth of Jesus Christ in Isaiah 9:6-7.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Jesus is called The Prince of Peace and we are to seek for the peace of the nations of the earth, just as God has called us Peacemakers.
This season let’s Celebrate Christmas aright……
In conclusion, Christmas is the combination of two words: CHRIST and MASS. Christ means The Anointed One and His Anointing, while MASS means a great number of people, or a population of people. Inotherwords Christmas means an ANOINTED MASS, ANOINTED POPULATION. It’s been said that there are over 1 billion Christians the world over.
Let us examine a reality:
Christmas means much more than just talking about what happened in the manger, Christmas actually began at Pentecost, that was when the mass of people who followed Jesus Christ for over three years were made Christ-like because finally The Spirit of Christ came to indwell them. It was later confirmed they were called Christians in Antioch.
