When God is Silent.
'The Lord answered him not neither by Dreams, nor by Urim, nor by the Prophets'
Those were the words recorded for the bitter reality that dawned on Saul the first King of Israel.
Its an awesome thing to know that we have a Father that longs to fellowship with us and to make known his words to us.Saul had compromised his relationship with God not long after he assumed Leadership in Israel, surprisingly he never sought to restore it through repentance.Uptill the moment the Spirit of God was taken from him. Many times when we err against God,his Spirit within us brings convictions so as to produce repentance, sadly sometimes we ignore such promptings.
We must realise that Continually disobeying God's promptings are dangerous;as he has said that His Spirit will not strive with man.Now the moment came when he needed God's instructions for the battle against the Philistines, unfortunately God wasn't ready to say another Word.God didn't give Saul a dream, the Urim and thummim which were Holy Instruments which were used as lots in determining God's were not of use,he didn't send prophets either.
Why? Saul never showed any sign of repentance.
The Preacher admonishes us in Proverbs 1:23,saying 'TURN you at my reproof' inotherwords, when the Spirit of Truth convicts,we should respond with genuine repentance. All that makes a man is Divine Presence not the wealth.Losing God is Losing All,is losing Life.
One prayer we must always say to God is:'Search me God and Know my ways'.You need Him,Moses could not do without Him,Jesus never left Him.
Perhaps God is silent in any area of your Life.Search for areas you've have missed it.Let the Holy Spirit search your heart and reveal to you areas of Repentance. We must realise that as believers we are to remain in a state of Repentance always.
The charge today is to see that God's Silence is not His Fault, rather its ours, because God is Just..His Gentle Spirit will not strive with man. However,There's Hope;in the latter part of Proverbs1:23,after turning(repentance) it says:Behold i will pour out my spirit unto you,i will make known my Words to you.He will restore his voice when you restore your heart to him.
Central Truth:He chooses to be silent when we've grieved Him.He speaks when we return back to Him.
