We have 7 Churches and 7 Pastors that are leading these Churches. We also have Jesus who is revealing the things that are currently taking place in those 7 Churches way-back-when that needs to be considered and dealt with by these 7 Pastors. Jesus was not trying to stress the Pastors any further, He wanted them to acknowledge what was going on and then made it clear to them what needed to change so they may be bless with the promises He revealed to them.
So far we covered 3 Churches in my last article
1. The Loveless Church—the Church of Ephesus (Revelation 2:1-7 NKJV)
Jesus revealed Himself as the One who holds the seven stars in His Right hand, who walks in the midst of the golden lamp-stands: (verse 1). And their problem was a lack of Love that they needed to recapture. Today Jesus has all the stars (The Pastors all around the world in His hand that are truly worshipping Him).
2. The Persecuted Church—the Church of Smyrna (Revelation 2:8-11 NKJV)
Jesus revealed Himself as the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to Life: (Rev. 2:8 NKJV)
They had no moral issues they were being slaughtered and Jesus had to remind them that He died and Rose again. So they may take comfort in the Promised Resurrection. We need to teach as Pastors about the topic of the Resurrection more often.
3. The Compromising Church—the Church of Pergamos (Revelation 2:12-17 NKJV)
Jesus reveals Himself as He who has the sharp two-edged sword: (Rev. 2:12 NKJV)
He had to declare strong warnings about teaching false doctrine and living an ungodly lifestyle. If they failed to correct the errors He would come and fight with them with the sword of His mouth.
Teachers Note: As a Bible Teacher I realize that some Pastors are gifted to teach and some to Preach. I strongly believe that if God had call you to be a Pastor He can anoint you to teach as well. Some Pastors don’t like to teach. Teaching takes a lot of study time and most Pastors shy away from it. But allow me to encourage you about something that Jesus did, Jesus appeared to these Pastors in the Book of Revelation chapters 2 and 3; and Jesus dealt with them based on the level of maturity and understanding that they can manage and do something productive to get their congregation back on track and in favor with God.
Jesus made it plain to them what needed to be changed. Then promised them if they would change they will receive the reward He promised to each of the 7 Churches. So Pastors don’t think it’s difficult because Jesus is with you every step of the way.
4. The Corrupt Church—the Church of Thyatira (Revelation 2:18-29 NKJV)
Jesus revealed Himself as the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass; (Rev. 2:18 NKJV)
Jesus had to be harsh with this Church who allowed a false Prophetess to deceive believers into idol worship, immoral sexual behavior and more…Jesus gave her time to repent (that means there’s a line in the sand in Heaven that once we cross it—the threat of sickness and premature death will be our sentence for disobedience.
Jesus had to remind them He is the Son of God with eyes of fire and feet of brass that declares His judgment side of His reign as Lord. Jesus is merciful, but when numerous attempts to correct the Church members are not considered to those who hear messages of correction, then affliction and premature death will be the last resort.
Remember Ananias and Sapphira in Acts chapter 5:1-11 NKJV. They died for lying to the Holy Ghost. God is a loving God but when believers play too many games then judgment is Jesus’ last resort. (This is different from the prodigal son story—because he came back.) These people were on a down-ward spiral knowingly and did not seem to care about the consequences.
5. The Dead Church—the Church of Sardis (Revelation 3:1-6 NKJV)
Jesus reveals Himself as He who has the 7 Spirit’s of God and the seven stars: (Rev.3:1 NKJV)
This Church was dying spiritually quickly in many areas of their lives. Jesus had to tell them to remain alive in areas of their Christian lives that were about to died.
Notice the way Jesus appeared to them (He who has the 7 Spirit’s of God)! A Pastor may say what is that? This is the 7 Dimensions of the Holy Spirit that was upon Jesus when He walked on the earth. We are to study what that is and how we can tap into these 7 Dimensions of the Holy Spirit’s Ministry on the earth. God used me to teach this topic in the following articles listed below;
A) 7 Dimensions of the Holy Spirit written 9-11-12
B) The Spirit of Understanding written 9-16-12
C) The Spirit of Counsel written 9-24-12
D) The Spirit of Might written 10-3-12
E) The Spirit of Knowledge written 10-7-12
F) The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord written 10-14-12
Teacher’s Note: Again let me stress something very important for Pastors. If Jesus is dealing with you and the Church you’re ministering in about similar matters or issues that must be rectified than we should pray, seek God’s face about the topics and teachings that we must study and then seek His anointed Power to be able to teach the topics that the Lord desires for us to Teach. If a Pastor is dealing with a spiritually dead Church right now—well take advantage of the teachings about 7 Dimensions of the Holy Spirit and seek God’s Power to be able to share it with your congregation. (The Christian Life is that simple and Practical.)
6. The Faithful Church—the Church of Philadelphia (Revelation 3:7-13 NKJV)
Jesus reveals Himself as He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens: (Rev.3:7 NKJV)
This Church did not receive any correction by the Lord. But they were given fresh insight to the Holiness of God, and the Truth of God then Jesus shares that He opens and closes doors in the life of believers. This is awesome revelation. Pastors should study the topic of Doors in the Bible to share with their congregation. In my previous article I shared some Scriptures about open doors (Acts 14:27 NKJV/ 1 Corinthians 16:9 NKJV/ 2 Cor. 2:12 NKJV/ Colossians 4:3 NKJV).
Many Christians fail to know which door is open for them to walk thru. The Door of faith to preach the Gospel, the Door of Job opportunities, the Door of Marriage, the Door of Business opportunities and more… If you are a faithful servant God will open Doors for you to grow and gain more responsibilities on earth. We must double-up on our talents.
7. The Lukewarm Church—the Church of Laodiceans (Revelation 3:14-22 NKJV)
Jesus introduced Himself as the Amen, the Faithful, and True Witness, the beginning of creation of God: (Revelation 3:14 NKJV)
There are 4 things Jesus reveals Himself as;
1. The Amen—we need to be in agreement with Him.
2. The Faithful—when we are unfaithful He remains faithful to us.
3. The True Witness—is the believer who has been called and anointed to present and demonstrate the True Witness (Jesus Christ) as their Lord and Savior on a daily basis.
4. The Beginning of Creation—is the whole picture of who Jesus is from the beginning. It is written about Him from Genesis to Revelation.
This Church that is Lukewarm can represent Christians in America today because of their lavished lifestyles and the way that they represent God as being Santa Claus blessing those who have good behavior. However, Balanced Prosperity Teaching is clear in these 7 letters to the 7 Churches. There are Churches who are financially wealthy and others who are poor financially (like Smyrna) but they are rich spiritually. The problem with wealthy Churches is that they lose sight of the importance of serving others who are in need financially. They also fail to seek God because they don’t need anything materialistically. But whether we are financially rich or poor we all need to seek God to empower us to live a godly lifestyle and be spiritually sensitive to hear from HIM.
I’m not against Prosperity I experience enormous amounts of wealth and God had always presented me with legitimate needs that had to be met by the wealth that HE bless me with. So alone with the financial blessing God will release to our care we must be wise stewards and distribute it accordingly as God will bring us into contact with the people we are to help financially.
Final Word to Pastors
Study in the areas that will produce growth in your personal life. Then study to be prepared to shared anointed messages that will impact the heart of all those who come to listen to you on a weekly basis. Fire up the passion once again to serve God; The Holy Spirit will use you once you decide to serve God again more diligently. Read, study, fast, pray and talk to the Teacher the Holy Spirit and HE will respond to you throughout the week and grant you revelation of Scripture to Teach His people uniquely. I’m telling you things that I personally practice that’s why I’m able to teach a powerful message every week and I have a busy schedule. So it’s not impossible; May God Bless you to be an awesome teacher in Jesus’ name, Amen.
