Had a good life under the sun,
no luxury could compare
Relax, throw my feet up,
run fingers through my hair
Trouble often was avoided,
little pain ever brought despair
No one here would bother me,
None on this beach would dare
From afar, clouds have come,
thunder rings through the air
I wonder what sins committed,
for Almighty to spoil my fair
Yet as the raindrops fall,
I saw truth, 'twas unaware
Rain waters bring earth life,
God's service for he cares
Jesus came, a gift from heaven,
a soul's ransom God prepared
Wooden cross and crown of thorns
showered life, mine to wear
Though others need this water,
comfort lent apathy to share
Indifference saw no healing,
laziness wrought their nightmare
To miss the joy of giving,
emptiness, how could I bear
Persisting only under the sun
I was blinded by its glare
