Why do people love to live in cities? One of the main reasons is its better provision for conveyance. Cities have beautiful highways and other roads. You need not worry about any traffic, any road rage or inconveniences of traveling. It is a pleasant experience to walk or travel on such a highway.
Here is a highway ready for your pleasant trip
Here is a good news. It is the good news of the Advent. It gives details about the highway towards heaven. Isaiah gives an interesting description about a beautiful highway. He gives a glorious vision of the highway called “holy way”. He says, “And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk in that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it.” (Isaiah 35: 8 Bible NIV) The highway has been cleared of all obstacles or disruptions that may trouble your journey.
The season of Advent reminds the highway
Advent reminds everyone the journey and the path to travel. It does not stop with that. It announces that the way is clear and everything is ready for a pleasant journey. The reading of the season quotes the prophetic description of John the Baptist who proclaims about the path. He calls people to repentance. John is the messenger before the Messiah who prepares the way for the Redeemer. His proclamation is a herald’s voice in the desert, crying, “Make ready the way of the Lord, clear him a straight path.” (Mark 1: 3)
The highway is cleared for you
The heavenly highway is cleared for you when God sent His only Son to live with us as one of the human beings. Jesus cleared the way and paved a path for us. It is a path of abundance, joy, and faith. We can walk confidently since he has removed every obstacle that may block our way from receiving the love of God. He not only cleared the way but also made our destination much clearer.
Come without hesitation
The highway to heaven is perfectly ready. Then why should there be any hesitation? Come, with confidence. Let this Advent take us in the path of peace and joy.
