Immanuel, God with us-with me. The concept and clarity of promise boggles my mind and stills my soul.

“Many people and many powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to find the LORD All-Powerful and to worship him. The LORD All-Powerful says, ‘At that time many foreigners speaking different languages will come to a Jewish man, take hold of the hem of his robe, and ask, ‘We heard that God is with you. Can we come to worship him (Zechariah 8:22-23 ERV)?”

“The LORD All-Powerful is with us. The God of Jacob is our place of safety (Psalm 46:11 ERV).”

“All this happened to make clear the full meaning of what the Lord said through the prophet: ‘The virgin will be pregnant and will give birth to a son. They will name him Immanuel.’ [Immanuel means ‘God with us.]’ (Matthew 1:22-23 ERV).”
