I’m sure some of us are fuming over a black-Friday sale we missed. I’m certain others are regretting that their cousin, sister, or brother snatched the last piece of sweet potato pie and they didn't get one. Perhaps we’re upset that our NFL team played so poorly on Thanksgiving; or maybe we’re still offended by some harmless comment a friend or neighbor said that day. Whatever the case may be, it appears that many of us may be complaining or quite disgruntled about any number of meaningless things. How inconsequential these things are.
An earthquake is about to strike the Midwest, but we’re concerned with whether our boots are in style for winter, or the mountains of presents we have to buy others for Christmas. An earthquake is about to strike the Midwest, but we’re lost in the frivolities of indulgence, and enamored by this secular lifestyle. An earthquake is about to strike the Midwest, but we’re obsessed with mindless TV sitcoms, and our greatest concern is the recent posts on Facebook’s news feed. An earthquake is about to strike the Midwest and we’re not ready.
Cry, wail, weep, and mourn; there’s no hope for adjourning the judgment to come forth. Cry, wail, and weep for Kansas City. Cry, wail, and weep for Memphis. Cry, wail, and weep for Branson. Cry, wail, and weep for Alabama. Cry, wail, and weep for what’s coming. Cry, wail, and weep for Kentucky. Cry, wail, and weep for the Mississippi delta. Cry, wail, and weep for St. Louis. Cry, wail, and weep for Illinois. Cry, wail, and weep for us quickly; the judgment of the Lord will come forth.
It will strike in the night, in a minute and an hour when man is unawares and content in his worthless ways. It will strike in a moment and cast this lofty nation low. Oh, may it turn the bride to repentance and cast her from the harlot’s bed.
Be not offended, oh bride of Christ! Be not angered at His true and just ways! Be not haughty and assume this word won’t touch you! Be not deceived and think He’s content with complacency! The Lamb is roaring as the Lion of desire over the Midwest. Judgment has come to every side, but the heart’s time has arrived. Judgment won’t wait; in the Lord’s mercy He won’t delay.
Chastisement is necessary for hearts will not repent. He weeps for mankind for He knows the death the disobedient await. Receive humility and garner obedience; perhaps He’ll spare.
Perhaps, yet if ears are dull of hearing and eyes are blind of seeing there is no hope of humanity to turn in time to appease His wrath. His judgment is His love and His love is His chastisement. Ready, Midwest He’s about to come. Ready, Midwest He’s about to roar.
If you heed this word from the Lord then be wise. Present Him clean hands and a pure heart. Offer Him the fragrance of a submissive will and a set apart heart. In the physical store up food, medical supplies, and water. The judgment won’t arrive before it’s time, but it’s about to arrive. Be ready.
