I want to get off the potter's wheel
Grumbled the lump of clay
I'm tired of the pounding and spinning around
Day after day after day
The process is tiring, the purpose unknown
The end, I cannot foresee
Perhaps just a lowly lump of clay
Is all I'm intended to be!
If you abandon this work of mine
The Potter in wisdom, replied
No longer you'll know the touch of my hand
To soften to shape and to guide
Discarded and brittle and hard you'll become
Do you really want it this way?
You'll be of no purpose or use to me
He cautioned the lump of clay
But what of the furnace, the clay loudly cried
The burning, the heat, the unknown
How will I fare when you close the door
And I'm left, afraid and alone?
I'll hold you and mould you, because you are mine
And the fire I will oversee
Until perfect, a vessel of strength you become
Both precious and useful, to me
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
