I Will Never Leave Thee Nor Forsake Thee

It should be our prayer that the Lord would humble our hearts to exalt Him alone. In the midst of our daily trials life can seem broken and hopeless and so we cry O come thou fountain of bliss and give us more grace to meet our spiritual needs.

Despair can whisper in our ears, "Its no use! It's a waste of time and a hopeless situation." The vanity of Job's wife gurgles the grievous words, "Dost thou still retain thine integrity? Curse God, and die." Job 2:9

Faith, however, cries outs and echoes forth loudly the voice of God who says: "I will never leave you nor forsake you." Deut:31:6; Hebrews 15:5; Have you forsaken God and His son to whom you owe your allegiance? Then pray for repentance and get back on the straight and narrow way that leads to life eternal and quit munching on the unsavory husks of this world. "If any man loves the world the love of the Father is not in him." 1 John 2:15

Believer if you have the Seed of God's Word abiding in you then you know Him who is True and Faithful. Jesus is a friend of sinners. Trust and obey His voice. This Jesus you profess to love promises never to forsake His own. Why? Because He loves them to the end. Jesus says: "I will never leave you nor forsake you."

Do I hear you say, "But I have sinned greatly and I'm tired of trying to live the Christian life?" Hear what the Lord says to you today, " Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." Matthew 11:28-29

Again, Jesus says: "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." John 6:37

Believer, if you come to Christ casting all your sins and dead works on Him, know that He is able to heal you and cleanse you from all your wicked ways. Cry out as the beggars of old, "Son of David have mercy on me!" Don't trust infallibly in yourself or your decision or your faith or your prayers or your church or pastor but trust in the Lord Jesus Christ who alone is infallible and will never forsake you.

"There is a way that seems right to a man but the end thereof are the ways of death." Proverbs 16:25. So many people today are going their own way but it is not the Lord's way, rather it is a way that leads to destruction and misery. Today if you hear God's voice take heed to yourself and your sinful ways. Repent and turn to the Lord by faith believing every word of His testimony for He is Faithful witness who washed us from our sins in His own blood and sealed His testimony in His blood on behalf of His own. Revelation 1:5

Oh, glorious Father thank you for sending your dear Son the Lord Jesus Christ into this sinful and evil world to save sinners like myself. What a precious Savior!
