3 Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate; and they said to one another, “Why are we sitting here until we die?
Grace and peace be unto you my brothers and sisters,
Many of us have lived blessed lives, and God has poured out His mercy and grace abundantly upon us. No matter what your age, no matter what your situations and circumstances are, God has been good to us! Have you ever considered this question," What are you going to do with the time you have left? In spite of your finances, in spite of your health, in spite of your marriage status, in spite of your educational status and in spite of all that is going on currently in your life...what are you going to do with the time you have left? Many people have lived their lives and died without ever leaving any type of positive mark or contribution to the society and world in which they lived. The above scripture text allows you to observe four men who were leprous men standing at the gate. The were deemed outcasts of society, the were not allowed to associate with the public, they were considered unclean and spiritually undeserving in men eyesight. Can anyone relate to this type of of treatment? Maybe from the world but even religious folks treated them that way. Consider the questions they asked themselves....“Why are we sitting here until we die? Let's examine their options: If we say, ‘We will enter the city,’ the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. And if we sit here, we die also (2 King 7:4). There was a famine in the city much like there is a famine that is going on in our lives which will result in death if sit and do nothing. They contemplated going inside the gate of the city and surrendering to the Syrian army and they declared," If they keep us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall only die". That is a key response to the question,"What are you going to do, with the time you have left? " Surrender....with the time we have left we must surrender it to God's will and God's ways! We have lived long enough doing our own thing and living by the creed " if it feels good do it". It's time my brother and my sister to surrender to God's plan for our lives. You will find as the four leprous men discovered, that there is a blessing awaiting you when you decide to act and surrender to God's will for your lives. Lord not my will but Lord let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven! What are you going to do, with the time you have left?
