What will be the Sign of Your Coming?

A Sign tells us where we are, what to do or where to go. When we consider the importance of a Sign and the simple instruction that’s given to us we will enter and travel confidently and safely in our journey. If we avoid a Sign (such as a STOP Sign) and drive right pass it—we may get caught and given a summons, or we can cause an accident and experience a tragic fatality. Signs are very important especially when it’s giving us the directions to a DESTINATION. If we did not have highway Signs we will fail to know the direction we need go to arrive at our desired DESTINATION.

Another advantage we have aside from Signs to lead us in the Direction we need to go is a GPS System. A GPS System is an electronic device we can purchase and install in our vehicles that’s connected to a Satellite to help guide us to our DESTINATION. And now we can program the address on our GPS and it will direct us to our desired DESTINATION.

A Sign and the GPS—The Word and The Holy Spirit

If we consider what Jesus said about the End-Times and stay focus on the Words He shared with us we won’t fall for false teachings about the Last Days. There are clear instructions that tell us what we should believe and practically live out so we can be ready when the Lord returns. The Word of God is our Sign, the Holy Spirit is our GPS that will help us navigate through the Beginning of Sorrows that we are currently experiencing.

Fact #1: The Time He will come back

Many End-Time teachers fell into the Time Factor (that is, they began teaching that Jesus will come back on a certain day or Year). We had the Y2K Prophecy teachers and that concept fell apart. Then we had the 2012 End of the World prophecies and we are still here going on 2014. The problem with placing a Time-table on God’s return is that it violates and goes against what Jesus said.

Jesus clearly said, but of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only (Matthew 24:36 NKJV).

End-Time Prophecy has to be simply understood as Jesus taught it. Jesus told us about 5 significant phases with each phase having a series of events in each phase. The 5 Phases is;

1. The Beginning of Sorrows (Matthew 24:8 NKJV) The whole explanation (Verses 4-14)
2. The Abomination of Desolation (Matthew 24:15 NKJV) The whole explanation (Verses 15-20)
3. The Great Tribulation (Matthew 24:21 NKJV) The whole explanation (Verses 21-27)
4. After the Tribulation or His Second Coming (Matthew 24:29 NKJV) The whole explanation (Verses 28-30)
5. The Rapture (Matthew 24:31, 40-41 NKJV) The whole explanation (Verses 31-51)

Knowing the Sign

We are directed to understand each phase by what Jesus explained. So when we look at the Beginning of Sorrows and see the long list of things that Jesus pointed out to us that will take place we can rest assure that we are currently experiencing on earth the things that are described in the Beginning of Sorrows. Here’s that list;

1. Many false Christ’s—don’t be deceive by them (Matthew 24:4-5 NKJV)
2. Wars and rumors of wars—don’t be troubled it has to happen (but the end is not yet!) (v. 6)
3. Nation against Nation—Kingdom against Kingdom (v. 7)
4. Famines, Pestilences and Earthquakes in various places (v. 7)
5. Jesus said, All these are the Beginning of Sorrows (v. 8)

Understanding Signs and Times

If we are to rightly interpret the 5 phases that Jesus said in the entire chapter of Matthew 24, we will simply see that we are living in the Beginning of Sorrows Phase. In my last article I went into great detail about these events that take place during the Beginning of Sorrows.

You see, all these events took place from the time that Jesus walked on the earth with His disciples--up until today. The only difference is that when Jesus taught His disciples this information about the End-Times He meant what He said to take place world-wide not just in the Middle-East. This is why the Disciples were under the impression that He was Coming back soon during their generation. And all through the Ages End-Time teachers tried to say that their generation would be the generation to witness the Rapture and the Second Coming.

I’m not a fanatical End-Time teacher. I’m not easily convinced of anything unless I receive confirmation and several affirmations of what God is about to do. I don’t go to bed every night in fear or worried that the world is going to end tomorrow. I’m not a doomsday prepper who’s going to live out the apocalypse, because God showed me that I will be leaving in the Rapture. And if we watch and pray about leaving in the Rapture as Jesus directed us too (See Luke 21:36 NKJV) we will be consciously ready to leave.

Jesus gave us the Signs of what will take place. As it stands after doing extensive research through Prayer and fasting, we are currently living in “The Beginning of Sorrows”. God demonstrated to me that we still must go through some terrible earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, fires, famines, and more before we are Raptured out of here. A lot of property will be destroyed along with the cars, boats, and other materialistic items that we have. It’s heart-breaking but that’s why He said it’s the Beginning of Sorrows.

Listening to Instructions

Before Jesus taught us about the End-Times in Mathew 24, Jesus spoke about how we should live on the earth. Jesus said, do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; (Matthew 6:19 NKJV)

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal (Matthew 6:20 NKJV)

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:21 NKJV).

Jesus does not want us to be hoarders, (By laying up treasures for ourselves). We need to share our rewards with of course our immediate family and the rest of our family and friends and acquaintances. Remember Leona Hemsley she left all her riches to her dog and nothing to her family.

Secondly, we should focus our attention to laying up treasures in heaven. How do we do that? By giving to the poor and following Jesus. Yes, we can keep a huge bank account but having an excess of materialistic things will consume our time and attention away from the Lord (See story with the rich young ruler Matthew 19:16-24 NKJV)

Thirdly, this is not to say that at this very moment if God is telling you clearly to build an orphanage or safe haven for human trafficking victims or a school in some part of the country. If you are sure it is God speaking to you to invest in this type of ministry go ahead and do it God will protect you from the earthquake, flood and hurricane; As long as, we are seeking God to avoid building it in a flood zone area or a tornado prone area.

So as it stands, we are currently living in the Beginning of Sorrows and we are waiting for the Rapture to take place any time now. Let us just watch and pray so we may be counted worthy to escape these things in Jesus’ name amen (Luke 21:36 NKJV).
