In October forty years ago, two Arab countries went to war against a nation they perceived as a common enemy. The warring parties were Syria and Egypt on one hand versus Israel on the other. They launched a surprise attack on Yom Kippur (6th October 1973), while the Israelis celebrated their most sacred day. Later on others joined the conflict including: Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Morocco, Algeria, the Palestinians, Saudi Arabia and Sudan. I noticed something striking – a common thread that runs through these countries that either supported the war militarily or logistically. Internal turmoil has rocked the aforementioned Islamic nations in the recent past. It was like a ripple of the sea, spreading from one country to the next. The troubles were of course born out of the Arab Spring of 2011, which spared none of the countries listed here and several others; both in the Middle East and in Africa. It seemed to be a masterful orchestration by some power or entity.
Whereas in 1973, they fought to regain territory lost during the 1967 war (famously known as the six day war), today they fight to maintain their national integrity. While forty years ago, they contended against an enemy without, now they strive against the enemy within. History is not without Irony! Forty years ago the Soviet Union threatened intervention. Last month we saw Russia block the US led effort to intervene in Syria. There are such striking parallels in the history of the battle in the Middle East. Will the “Prince of Persia”1 yet again stir the nations to direct their war machinery outwardly rather than inwardly? The answer lies within the Book. (Ultimately time will tell.) Prophecy predicts the mother of all wars shall be fought at the end of time, against the “Prince of Peace” Himself.
At the opening of the sixth seal several signs2 (including a blood moon) precede the gathering of the nations in the “Valley of Jehoshaphat.”3 When the sixth angel pours out His vial then the way shall be opened for the kings of the east (with the drying up of the Euphrates).4 They shall be assembled in “the place called, in the Hebrew tongue, Armageddon.”4 Might we now be seeing the developments that shall culminate in the final conflict? I believe we shall soon find out. The prophet Zechariah speaks of “the burden of the word of the Lord for Israel”5 and goes on to speak of “the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.”5 It seems that there will be an awakening and recognition among the Jews of Yahoshua HaMashiach.5
“And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.”5

It is good you are aware that God is very soon to act in His creation. End time events will start and the world will be shocked and terrified. But we who read and understand the prophetic Word can and should know what God has planned. You are correct, in that the sixth seal is the next to happen. As that event is the Lord's Day of wrath, expect dramatic and earth shaking things.
