8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! 9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.
Often when we are going through a trial, the enemy will keep us so busy that we will forget that we have been in this same position before. Sometime in the past we have cried out to God with a fever and intensity to save us from some attack that was being launched against our mind, body, finances, friends, and family. We forget that we did not think that there was a way for us to escape, But God comes along and delivers us and places us back on solid ground. As we mature as Christians and begin to share our testimonies with others, we begin to realize that we really should be remembering them instead of our shortcomings or the shortcomings of others. What we choose to think on will strengthen us for the next battle in the cycle. Instead of feeling dismayed, we should be thankful that God is faithful and that with each new challenge we receive confirmation of our belief in him. Each trial affords us the opportunity to learn about the great love that God has toward us. What a privilege it is to serve such a faithful God who never leaves or forsakes us but is waiting with open arms ready to pull us up from the next pit that he knew we would fall into before it occurred.
