Out of the Darkness Into His Light

There is a darkness that comes over you at any moment, no warning, it’s just there. What is this darkness? It is the feeling of being totally alone. You might be in a room full of people and activities and still feel isolated and invisible. You are at a point where you wonder where the light switch for your life is.

Here is an example of what is actually happening to you when this loneliness envelopes you. Many times you have walked into a dark room and you can’t see anything. You wish that your eyes would adjust quickly but they don’t. Finally, out of desperation, you grope for the light switch hitting everything but what you are searching for. Once again there is only nothingness. At this point you either try again, or forget it, going to your private hole of loneliness, feeling defeated. You are thinking, “Oh, what’s the use, no one cares if I live or die anyway.” You know if you had only found that light switch things might look better…maybe. The cry for help is never heard so you curl up in your own cocoon and wallow in this utter despair.

I have found myself in this useless frame of mind and it makes me feel really cut off from everything and everybody I love. Sometimes this feeling comes on me even when others are around. This is the time that satan is working his hardest to get a tighter grip on your heart and mind so that you will never break free. My personal experience is that I know he whispers just awful things. He tries to tell me, “Do they really love you?” My answer is usually at this point, “I really don’t know.” He may say, “You’re so useless no one really cares about you.” You may think that this never happens to you…that you don’t deal with loneliness, that it only happens to people that don’t have God in their lives. Get a reality check people…we all have those moments. What are you going to do the next time it hits you? Do you want to stay under satan’s control? My answer is a resounding NO!

It is time to break free and live a fulfilled and happy life…free from loneliness and depression. Instead of living in loneliness, live knowing you are loved and cared for by the one that is the author of unconditional love. You guessed it…GOD. I will close with these verses. NEVER AGAIN WILL I focus on loneliness, because the Word says, “Jesus said…I am with you always, to the very end of the age [FOREVER].” Also God’s Word says, “God is [YOUR] refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble.” The brackets are to make it more personal. This is the verse I really want you to meditate on, “Casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.” I want you to add something to that last verse…Cast all your loneliness on Him. God loves you so much my dear friends, never forget it. Start a moment-by-moment relationship with Him. God will bless you the more time you spend with Him.
