Greetings to all and praise the lord.
Today i would like to emphasize on the name Jesus Christ.
Majority of Christians around the globe these days read English bible which is translated from Greek New Testament and Hebrew Old Testament.
When i learned Hebrew and started reading Hebrew bible i was surprised to see major translation gaps.
In English translation major issues are with names of our respected prophets whom God choose to guide humankind.
I noticed that wherever we have alphabet Yod in Hebrew (like Y in English)it is changed to alphabet J in English. For example Judah (notice the first letter J) in English came from original Yahuda (notice Y or yod) in Hebrew, similarly name of Jordan river came from yardan in original Hebrew.
Now let's come back to our main topic which is name of lord Jesus Christ. If i read in Greek it is "Iesou Christou" so here we find Jesus came from “Iesou” and Christ came from Christou in original Greek.
Some of our readers may get confused as i compared the name of Jesus from Greek language but neither Jesus nor his parents named Mary and Joseph were Greek , they all were Jews whose language was Hebrew.
The answer to above confusion is that the Gospel was originally written in Greek and all educated people were aware of this language in those days like English Language in present days.
The language of Jesus of Nazareth and his Apostles was Aramaic which is colloquial of Hebrew language. Aramaic is the official language of the country of Syria from where Jesus Christ started preaching. If we read Aramaic New Testament called as Peshitta by Syrians we find that Jesus Christ name was YESHUA Masih and all his apostles use to address him by this name.
I hope you got the essence of this message that we should know the name of Lord Jesus Christ who suffered for us in this world so that we can be saved in hereafter (Life after death).
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
