“Behold, I have imprinted you on each of My hands” (Isaiah 49:16 Amplified).
God is our creator. From God came everything, and everything that is, has been, and ever shall be, has its roots within God. Thus, we have all the attributes of God, but we are not God “Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being” (Genesis 2:8 Amplified).
Mankind is distinct from all the rest of creation, in that he is made in the image of God. As God is a tripartite; Father, Son and Holy Spirit---we’re formed in three parts---body, soul and spirit “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete” (1 Thess 5:23 NASB).
As human beings, we live eternally as a spirit, have a soul, and dwell in a body. Embracing ourselves as fashioned in the likeness of the heavenly Sculptor, causes us to look at Him and away from our imperfections.
A deeper relationship with the Lord began when I realized that He loved me unconditionally and personally, not universally “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works” (Eph 2:10 ESV). We’re not accidents nor numbers but individuals unlike anyone else.
Every person is a rare entity. God loves us the way we are and understands the minute details of ‘why’ we are that way. We’re fearfully and wonderfully made “You formed my inward parts…in my mother’s womb” (Psalm 139: 13-14 NKJV).
