Everyday we hear of death and destruction from extreme weather conditions. Fires, floods, tornados and earthquakes are taking its toll on the world’s people. Thousands are left without homes and possessions but many lives have been miraculously spared through it all. Is this what voices of prophecy call "the end of the age of Grace?"
Recently I was reading from the book of Isaiah on the history of the Israeli nation that turned its back on God. A portion of this scripture caught my attention as I visualized the photo's I took of the Waldo Canyon fire and the Black Forest fire that took place recently in Colorado over a two-year span. Isaiah 9:18-20 "He will burn up all this wickedness, those thorns and briars: and the flames will consume the forests, too, and send a vast cloud of smoke billowing up from their burning. The land is blackened by that fire, by the wrath of the Lord's of heaven's armies."
Johanthan Cahn, a messianic Jewish pastor and author of "The Harbinger" (recommended reading) tells of a time of rebellion and judgment upon a stubborn nation that refused to turn back to God. The similarities are uncanny with the events that are happening in our time. Again in Psalms 83:13-16 we read about the repercussions that come out of rebellion. " O my God, blow them away like dust; like chaff before the wind---as a forest fire that roars across a mountain. Chase them with your fiery storms, tempests and tornados. Utterly disgrace them until they recognize your power and name, O Lord. "
America, a once great and powerful nation, is on high speed spiraling toward a dark abyss of total degradation and destruction. If it's people continue in their wicked and sinful ways with no sign of repentance our nation will be headed toward the same judgments that fell upon the Israelites. What will change the course of events? There are four things we can do to avert destruction of our great nation.
1. It's people must turn away from their sin and rebellion against God. They must not allow the world’s distractions keep them from an intimate relationship with Him and His Word through Jesus Christ.
2. They must use their gifts and talents for His glory and not for their own personal or monetary gain.
3. They must reach out to those who are hurting with a Christ like love and the good news message of salvation through Jesus. John 3:16
4. They must let their voices be heard. Col. 4:5,6 " Make the most of your chances to tell others the Good News. Be wise in all your contacts with them. Let your conversation be gracious as well as sensible, for then you will have the right answer for everyone."
If God's people in this nation repent and come back to Him America (the beautiful) will be healed and spared a severe judgment like the one that fell upon the Israelites. II Chron. 7:14 "Then if my people will humble themselves and pray, and search for me, and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear them from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land."
GOD BLESS AMERICA once again.
