The patriarchs had a blessed way of living, even though they lived on this earth, they set their hearts on things above, they had the blessedness to see the fleeting glory on all the earthly things and to them what mattered the most was the Lord and His glory.
" For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. " Hebrews 11:14 (NKJV)
The world has so much to offer, however in everything we should be able to see the brevity and our hearts should desire the more blessed heavenly things.
The Holy Spirit encourages us to set our mind on things above and for a valid reason.
"Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory." Colossians 3:2-4 (NKJV)
Those who have been born in Christ have died to the world and to all the vanity of this world and their homeland where they would be eternally comfortable is eternity with Christ.
Let us also be in constant pursuit of everything that will keep us closer to heaven, cherish in the blessedness to come and seek the homeland which God has promised.
Jesus said ....
" In My Fatherís house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. " John 14:2-3 (NKJV)
We have a blessed promise from the Lord for a blessed place which He prepares for us and He is faithful.
Thus let our hearts be set above, to the blessedness In stored for us, and lets earnestly seek our homeland in heaven above.
