1 Corinthians 2
New King James Version (NKJV)
4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
Grace and peace be upon you my beloved brothers and sisters,
As time swiftly approaches the apex of this generation and the climax of times, knowledge continues to increase. Man has landed on the moon, so they say and the next venture will be Mars. Mobile phones harness as much power as the gigantic computers of old. Google has all the answers to the questions whether; asked by a college professor or a college textbook. These are amazing times for mankind, but what is more amazing is that God continues to reveal himself as Creator, Savior and Lord. With all this technology, witty inventions and advancements in science there is still a great number of people who have yet to discover, experience and believe in God. I wonder what happens if you goggle is God real and is Jesus Christ the Savior, would it have the correct answer? In the above text Paul writes," that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God". Paul was a man of knowledge, wisdom and intellect. However; when it came to the preaching of the Gospel he states," And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power." In the churches today, we tend to want to be entertained. We want our pastors to have great oratory skills, the ability give us deep theological insights with homiletic accuracy with a sermonize ending of how Jesus Christ died on the cross and arose early......early Sunday morning with power....all power in his hand! That's good but when you catching all sort of hell on your job, catching hell at your house and even in some cases catching hell at your church, good sounding sermons will not be enough. On this Christian journey you will need to experience the power of God in your life. I am not just talking about just being slain in the Spirit and talking in tongues and hearing prophecies and words of knowledge. I am talking about the Spirit of God moving at your house, your job and your church! I am talking about the healing of people from all sorts of deceases, deliverance's from all types of addictions, lives being changed and rearranged, marriages being rescued and restored, and the Love of God being displayed at church, at home and at work. The power of God has been missing in our churches. We have placed our faith in the wisdom of man and the power of God has been absence in our lives. It's time for a revival in the church....I am not just talking about the buildings, it is time for a revival in the body of Christ, the believers! When the last time you laid your hands on the sick and they recovered? When the last time you prayed and you saw the power of the Holy Ghost engulf the room? For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power (1 Corinthians 4:20). The Lord promised those who would believe on him would received power after the Holy Ghost has come upon them in Acts 1:8. The Lord promised that his disciples would have power to cast out unclean spirits and heal the sick and all kinds of disease in Matthew 10:1. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesian 6:10). Is your faith in the wisdom of men or the power of God?
