ôLet not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
Grace and peace be upon you my beloved brothers and sisters,
I recalled some years ago that there was a song that stated " Don't Worry, Be Happy", and as I mediated over the above text, I realized that this was the same word that Jesus was conveying over 2,000 years ago to his disciples when he declared,ôLet not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me". In today's society it is rather easy to find yourself being overly concerned about the degradation of society, the injustices, the violence in the streets, the poor economy, the millions of homeless people, poverty and starvation, deaths and diseases affecting the young and the old. However, Jesus says to you and I, "Let not your heart be troubled". A troubled heart leads to a troubled mind, a troubled mind leads to a troubled life and a troubled life leads to a person "faith" being in trouble. In other words, when you heart is troubled your faith is being tested. What is the benefit of believing in God and his Son, if you do not have the faith to believe that they are able to work out your situations and your circumstances here on the earth. God is not going to work it out, He has already worked it out, only if you believe. The bible declares that faith without works is dead. If you believe that God loves you and gave his only begotten son to die for you, just think... how much more will he do for you? I stated that your problems have already been worked out. How do I know? Jesus declares on the cross that" it is finished" and when he was raised from the dead and ascended to throne of his Father in Heaven and sat down at the right hand of the Father signifying all the work is finished. Some would say that, this is only the work of Salvation that is finished however; in the book of Genesis it declares,'Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. 2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made (Genesis 2:1-3). In conclusion, the work of salvation and the work of God is finished from the beginning of the world and in time and in eternity. Therefore, your problems have already been worked out in God and in Christ. Now you must believe that it is finished, because we are human beings we must wait in faith for the manifestations of God's word to come to pass here on the earth because it is already done in eternity! Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God and believe in Jesus!
