27 So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them.
Grace and peace be unto you my beloved brothers and sisters,
Notice the title of this discourse is "Fake Christians". I used this title as a literary technique to draw you to this discourse. The word Christian does not appear in the bible but a limited amount of times depending on which translation you are reading. The word Christian in its origin was used as a derogatory term referencing the Believers of Christ. We all understand that the word " fake" has negative connotations. Therefore; the title Fake Christian stirs up a measure of negative sentiments before you read one sentence however; I would like for you to focus on the purpose behind "Fake Christians" First of all, anything of value will have it's counterfeits or it's fake. 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:13-14). If you want to be able to determine what is fake or counterfeit you must take time out to study the authentic, the real or the genuine. Those who deal with money are able to identify the counterfeits because they have been given classes on the characteristics of the real bill. Jesus said that you will know the tree by the fruit it bears. One of the interesting things about the parable of the Wheat and Tares which the above text is taken from, Jesus tells his servants not to go gather up the tares because they may uproot some of the wheat. Thus, fake Christians sing, shout, dance, speak in tongues, prophesy and preach just like the Believers and there lies the danger of trying to separate them before its time because you may uproot a true Believer. Therefore Jesus decline the offer to separate them before the time of the harvest (end of time). Fake Christians or professing Christians allow you an opportunity to distinguish the real from the fake, just as there are real 100 dollars bills there are also counterfeit 100 dollars bills. Some profess Christ and others are possessed by Christ, the bible declares if the Spirit of God is not in you, you are not one of his children. In conclusion, God will have his angels do the separating in the end of this age therefore; we must continue to examine the fruit that we may know the tree.
