2 Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
By breaking this 4-part scripture down we can clearly see that this particular time is now. Notice he say's "the time will come", not is now or has come. Meaning, there will come a time in the future of mankind that this doctrine will be seen and heard, making it a tangible evidence for the last generation on earth. By examining this scripture, we will truly know that we are that generation that the Holy Spirit through Paul is talking about here! For never in the history of man from Paul's day till now do we see this truth.
First he states: "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine". The meaning of the word endure in this statement is a verb which means; " To carry on through, despite hardships". To give a meaning to the phrase "sound doctrine", it would have to be this: To return the focus on the Lord Jesus Christ; who He is, what He achieved for us, what He taught and practiced, and what He expects of us.
That is also to say: what he approves, what he condemns, what he warned us to stay away from, the power of the Holy Spirit, his healing's, signs, faith in all circumstances weather life or death, the gifts of the Spirit and the fruits. Many have turned (especially in the church) from these because satan has flooded their life's and minds with lies, media, science, medicine (not to say I'm against medicine, God bless those in medical), false bible's and the like. Which brings us also to the next statement from Paul.
Secondly he states: "but after their own lusts". This should clearly be the most evident of the four today. God has created man and in man he placed a soul and spirit; which has a deep connection with God the Father. Believe it or not; but most everyone has a self-fulfillment that they must be approved by God, causing their minds to be seared with a hot iron.
In no other time of the history of mankind can a person live a life of sin and wickedness and find a church/group that will condone and embrace the very thing God hates in their life, then that of today! "After their own lust" they are able to, by the laws of man and the lies of satan express themselves openly and freely amongst the public and now in the so called "house of God".
In their hearts they cry: "we can live in fornication because we love each other", "I know I'm a drunkard; but Jesus hung out with the drunkards", I am a sodomite and do that which is filthy to my body, "but I was born this way", If God doesn't want me smoking marijuana, then why did he put it here on earth", "I know I'm married, but the other person makes me happy and God wants me to be happy". Excuses and lies, yet the list goes on and on. Which again brings us to the third statement of Paul's warning.
Thirdly he states: "teachers". For they have places now called churches and organizations that will not only teach false doctrines of devils that twist scriptures to justify a life of sin; but embrace the very sin itself! That's right! You ministers of darkness! You have given over to lies and heresies of satan all in the name of God and love!
Your punishment in the end will be greater then that of the others. For you have more responsibility when it comes to the souls and destinies of men and women. The very same men and women who you are sending straight to HELL, by the ways of your false doctrine and lies of embracement's!
You have placed yourselves out in the world freely taking that which is Holy and defiling it with spiritual whores, lies, seducing spirits, doctrines of demons and false joy and fire. Wolves in sheep's clothing you are. The wicked have called and you have answered! Their blood will he required upon thy own head, says the Lord of Host!
Fourthly he states: "having itching ears". Many today have ears on their spiritually dead bodies which cannot hear. They want to live how they want to and have others to support that which they are doing. Trading good for evil. Wells without water they are. A dry tongue that longs to quench it's thirst; but never will.
For their selfishness of their desires overrides that of truth; which is the exposing of their lifestyles and sin. So, "they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears"! Teachers who will not show them the errors of their ways. Teachers who turn their eyes and ears from the truth. Teachers who tell them that God loves them and they need not repent for anything. Teachers who teach from satanic new age bibles.
For if they (teachers) turn away from that which they are teaching unto the truth, then they too, will be exposed. You see, they too are the same people who heap to them. For with that which a man condones openly is the same as teaching a person to do that which is being condoned. He/she too will be judge of the same; because they are the same.
The blind leading the blind. False prophets and teachers. They are God's judgment on those who seek after them. Storing up judgment for the day of judgment. "Depart from me you workers of iniquity, for I (Jesus) never knew you"!
God has set before you life and death. Choose life and live, or choose death and perish! You make your own choose!
