“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty…You shall not be afraid of the terror by night…No evil shall befall you…for He shall give His angels charge over you” (Psalm 91:1-11 NKJV).
Psalm 91 is a glorious masterpiece of abiding daily in the presence of God. There’s nothing more satisfying than His companionship and protection. He promises to be our eternal refuge from the storms of life. Wrapped in Father God’s perfect love and guardianship erases every fear.
“Because he [God’s child] has set his love upon Me [God], therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name…With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation” (Psalm 91:14-16 NKJV).
Many prophets in the Old Testament depended completely upon the Lord for strength, healing and life (Jeremiah 8:22). “I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name; Am the God of Israel” (Isaiah 45:3 NKJV).
Cornelia ten Boom and family were Dutch Christians who lived in the Netherlands. During Nazi occupation, the ten Boom’s built a ‘tiny hidden room’ to protect Jewish people from imprisonment. In addition, they fed, clothed and transported Jews hunted by Gestapo, out of the country. It’s estimated they saved 800 lives from Nazi Holocaust.
The ten Booms were betrayed by a fellow Dutch informant in 1944---separated and transferred to concentration camps. Corrie survived Ravensbruck death camp in Germany and moved to Placentia, California where she died in1983. The ten Boom’s brave and heroic acts still live through Corrie’s books. They relate unfathomable forgiveness and immeasurable love of Christ.
