Psa 27:13 I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living
The Pslamist says, ‘‘I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.’’ If it had not been for his faith in God, his heart would have given up. But in the confident assurance in God that faith gives, he urges himself and us to remember one thing above all—to wait on God. The deliverance we often wait for is from our enemies, in whose presence we are powerless. The blessings we plead for are spiritual and unseen, things impossible with men. Our heart may well faint and fail. Our souls are unaccustomed to holding intimate fellowship with God. The God we wait on often appears to hide.
The day of the living that the pslamist describes is first of all a period that illustrates the light of God that illuminates the darkness to give life that he finally calls living; hence its only living life cause its one that has received light. Its a life time situation filled with the lighting of the father into the hearts of his children in other wards, the pslamist relates to the words of the saviour christ when he said that he is the light and he is the bread of life. Something quite significant is seen in those words. "Life and light." Light gives surpport to a plants life; I bet we are quite clearly on that. So we can have life without light which is simply darkness.
We are in such a habit of evaluating God and His work in us by what we feel that it is very likely that on, some occasions we will be discouraged because we do not feel any special blessing. Above everything, when you wait on God, do so in the spirit of hope. It is God in His glory, His power, and His love who is longing to bless you.
The goodness of the lord is only seen in the land of the living and as I have said, life is a result of light. His goodness dwells in those that have and experienced and seen his light by faith. Yeah faith! That's where it all lies; faith sees Christ only where he sits; the land of the living not the dead, not the tired and given up souls. But those that Busk in his light that gives life. Praise God if you have life through faith by his light." unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living"
Don't tire, for by faith you have access to his light in his own life, the only life God ever gave us in his son. If you afirm with that statement, then sitback and worry no more.
