Sometimes or most times, it does seems as if God is silent. But the fact that it seems he is silent does not necessarily mean he actually is silent, in fact, his eyes are on us. God is not a talkative either. He spoke in the beginning and those words still echo till today. In this God seems to be silent moment, believers seems to be of the opinion that it is due to sin. It could be true as sin simply means disobedience, but it does not mean it is so every time. Other times it does happen because God has already spoken about the situation, and we want things done our own way. Hence, one party keeps grumbling about things not been done their own way and the other (God) keeps silent. Isaiah 45:9 says; Woe to him who strives with his maker, an earthen vessel with the potter! Does the clay say to him who fashions it, ‘What are you making’? Or ‘Your work has no handles’? Beloved, about that situation, God has already spoken. All you have to do is to search yourself, make due corrections and move on.
When I was 10 years old, my dad asked me what I wanted to mark my birthday. Now, in our family, it is the custom that every year for the first 10 years, our parents organize birthday celebration for us and on the tenth year, it is assumed that you should start making decisions to guide your life on your own. So i told him I wanted him to teach me how to drive a car. He laughed. I insisted that I had long legs already and could see beyond the bonnet. He told that, bbased on that fact, he does not disagree with me but I that needed one more thing; maturity so as to be able to handle the challenges that engulf driving and that constitution say 18 is the age of maturity in our country. And when I clock 18, he would teach me how to drive himself. God could be silent about your request because you are not yet mature for it. Shot-cuts mean breaking the law which is sin. All that is needed include; patience, endurance and perseverance. After all, a Christian without these attributes (patience, endurance and perseverance) can never withstand the challenges of Christian warfare. For they are the strength by which we hope in Christ Jesus. Grow up in faith in God. Draw nearer to God by studying his words, the bible. And also by worshipping and praising him always. Please, do not lose hope. God is not silent because Ephesians 3:20-21 says; Now, to him who by the power at work in us is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever Amen. 1 Peter 5:7 says; Cast all your anxieties on him, for he cares about you.
One of the reasons you need to be patient and persevering is that, like my dad promised to teach me driving when I clock 18, so it is to God promises. A particular day, date, hour, minute and even second has been set to answer your request. Do not be in a hurry. A testimony was shared by a man, whose wife gave birth to a set of triplet (2 males and a female) after 15 years of marriage. He cried while sharing the testimony. Not just because of the joy upon the arrival of the triplets, but because when their marriage clocked 13 years, he took a shot-cut via extra-marital affair and had a child outside wedlock. He wept bitterly because; he failed to be patient for another 2 years after waiting for 13 years and even confessed reaping the consequences of his impatience. DON’T GIVE UP!
God, has it is known to everyone, is always silent because of our disobedience, hence, sin. Habakkuk 1:13 says concerning God that his eyes are too pure too behold evil. As a result, God either destroy everything that has to do with the evil (sin) or, turn his back on them. The question than is, how is it possible for God to answer the person he had already turned had back upon? That you are alive only means there is still hope and chance to repent, and live a holy live afterwards. It is then that God would draw you unto himself. In this modern age, it looks almost impossible to live a pure and holy live. But Jesus said in Matthew 5:48 says; Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. This is a commandment that must be obeyed. Some people are of the believe that the ancient world was not as corrupt as the present age. Remember Ecclesiastes 1:9 says; “What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun”. Corruption, bribery, homosexuality, rift, violence, war and so on have been happening since ancient world. Yet there were saints, and you too can be the saint in this life like Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 that you are the light of the world, if you are not double-minded. And you can only be light of this world by accepting Jesus Christ as your lord and saviour. Jesus Christ said in John 8:12, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows be will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. When you truly accept Jesus as your lord and saviour, his spirit will dwell in you and would make you a light that darkness would never be able to comprehend. It is with this light that you become pure, holy without blemish that you are drawn to God by himself and exhibit the divine features like Moses. Moses after been drawn to God in Exodus 34:29-30, his face was radiant to the extent that people were afraid to come near him. When you walk and move closer to God at this level you will definitely lack nothing.
