look thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, as thou usest to do unto those that love thy name. Psalm 119 : 132
This morning we will briefly consider the one of the prayers of David. His prayer was for God to look upon him and have mercy, in other words, he wanted God to see him and feel his challenges and be moved to action so as to safe him. May God turn to someone reading this in Jesus name.
Even as he prays, the psalmist recognised that there is a condition to enjoying God's mercy the way he prayed for. Like many of us pray today but we dont work towards it, how do you intend to get good result from that prayer. So today, we can see the condition in the text that those whom God show mercy love the name of the Lord, but not the only people that receive mercy from God. Can you ask yourself, how much of God name you love? Some people even talk to God from a distance i.e no good relationship and yet we want to receive from Him. The truth is, the deeper your relationship with God is, the more compeling God feels to hear and do that which you call His name for.
Take a word this day and turn to the Lord. Whether your relationship with Him is fragile or not even there at all, turn to Him this day.
