I took a walk with Jesus across the USA. Not a word was spoken as he took my hand and led the way.
We had barely gotten started when I noticed his tear filled eyes;
I took a closer look around me, I too began to cry.
He squeezed my hand a little tighter as if to say, "Don't worry child, every thing will be OK."
As we moved forward I took note of all the broken families, all the displaced folks. I looked up to him in a questioning way, "what went wrong?" is what I wanted to say.
He looked at me in a knowing way.
Suddenly he stopped; he turned his head as if to hear. He placed his hand over his heart as profanity, curses, lies, name calling filled the air. The blood of the innocence cried out to him. I watched his tears fall once again.
Breaking our silence I cried out to him! "Oh Lord how much more do you want to see? I don't know if I can finish this walk with thee."
With his tear filled eyes he smiled at me. "Only a little longer child, tarry with me. (Jer. 5:8) We have to plead the case of the fatherless, and defend the rights of the poor, Should I not avenge myself on such a nation as this? A horrible and shocking thing has happened in the Land."
(Titus 3) " We need to remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient and ready to do what is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate and show true humanity toward all men."
"So, come child, come walk with me, I will tarry only a little while longer."
