Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. Leviticus 18:22
If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. Leviticus 20:13
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolater nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders... I Corinthians 6:9
One of the hot-button issues these days is the issue of same-sex marriage. Very plainly stated, there is no such thing. There is not one place in the Word of God even suggesting this as a possibility. Both the Old and New Testaments clearly declare homosexual acts as sinful and unnatural. Although Scripture doesn’t consider homosexuality to be the worst of sins, there are no Scripture references to even hint at the notion that homosexuality is natural. This would safely lead one to conclude that there is no way one could be born as a homosexual. Further, the only guarantee from our Lord in the Bible for homosexuality in any manner is a one-way ticket south to much warmer climates.
It is almost impossible to believe how some politicians, in this wonderful country of ours, would rather cave to these immoral ideas than stand up for the principles this country was fundamentally founded upon. And why? All for the all-important ‘vote’. I could not begin to compromise what I believe and know to be fact for any reason, but some can do it without even giving it a second thought.
It scares me to think of how practically noone willing to stand up for what they believe regarding this issue and those similar. Oh sure, there are those who are willing to fight for their idea of the abuse of animals, for wilderness destruction and/or similar matters. It is certainly not disputable all of these are not very important issues. The problem is, how often do you hear of someone standing up for issues such as the opposition to same sex marriage? I am sure it happens, I am just not sure it is as newsworthy as those of the same sex who are fighting to get married. Maybe it is because of the media and their lack of exposure to those opposed. Maybe we do not hear about it because it is not what makes the news, and or what makes the news interesting. I recall seeing same-sex marriages played again and again and just plastered all over the place. Why did those opposed not get just as much air time as those not in opposition? Why are biblical marriages between and a man and a woman not shown on the news with such excitement and coverage? Are the LEGALLY (and biblically) married simply not as entertaining and interesting? We are the ‘norm’, the not-so-exciting.
If I absolutely disagreed with President Bush on every issue except his stand on same-sex marriage, I would still be bound to vote for him just because of his stand on same-sex marriage. I find it sad that those who stand in judgement a lot of times seem to be those with questionable personal judgement. The Dixie Chicks have a song called riding on the ‘Sin Wagon’, and additionally, had a song about personally murdering an admittedly evil man. What about the sound judgements, or lack there of, of Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O’Donnell? It should matter to all Americans that showing respect for the leaders of our country, especially our President, should come without reservation or question. Our support should be unfailing even though you may or may not agree with everything he may or may not stand for. Freedom of speech does should not allow for freedom of stupidity, but it certainly seems to tip the scales in that direction more often than not.
Gay marriage...it is like watching a train wreck. You know it is wrong to want to see what is going on, but you just cannot take your eyes off the destruction. If you and I become the car that drives right on by without looking, there will simply be no chance for the wreck of those who are rubber-necking. I can confidently say I do not want to be the one caught looking back.

good piece. I remember the day I was reading my Bible and I got to all the laws about behavior...and I thought, why is God telling them this? Because they were DOING this!
We use to have sodomy laws on the books because people were "doing" this.
But like all laws...they are written because of the evil deeds that people do...to protect the people who AREN'T doing this.
