If you think about it. Sin being bondage in our lives makes us slaves to sin. First off to sin is a choice we make. We can live a lifestyle that is pleasing to God or not. So if the choice to sin is ours then why do we willingly place ourselves in bondage? Continuing to sin is to continue to bind yourself. No different than putting yourself in a jail cell with the door wide open. What I am trying to say is that Jesus already paid our debt He has set us free but we willingly place ourselves in a spiritual jail cell with the door wide open. (Proverbs 26:11) talks about this.
Today no longer hold yourself in a prison made by your own hands, but live in the glory of grace, peace, and mercy that only God can bring. You are already free, the price has been paid. No longer be a slave to sin and bondage, but be free in everything God already has for your life. (Jeremiah 29:11)
