Brothers and Sisters in Jesus, I have a word from the Lord for you, today.
I'm really excited! Why am I excited? I'm excited because of God's amazing love for you. I'm excited because God has taken a professional sinner, transformed him into a son, and then popped me into your path today, providentially.
What do I have for you, today? Only good stuff. Good, good, good. No bad stuff, no old stuff. New wine and new wine only. Ready? Let's jump into this thing!
Oh, you are so new Christian and chances are you don't even hear enough about it in many messages preached, today. That has to end here as the Holy Spirit comforts and encourages you, right now!
Let me ask you: How are you ever going to experience what it is to be truly new, you know, a “new creation”—if you don't let the LORD have his way with you? I know … you “want” to let the LORD have his way with you. However, are you accepting his Word about what you now have because Jesus is so mind-bogglingly indescribable? Abraham did. God basically said, “Abram, you are now Abraham.” It was done on the spot and Abraham didn't appear to make a peep! He just received it.
Here's what I mean:
God has given you a bunch of stuff and you really need to take inventory. Daily. Hourly. By the minute. By the second! Why wouldn't you? Because you didn't know? You're gonna know now. The Old Covenant doesn't belong to you, so per Jesus, please do not mix it with the New Covenant. You get the new; the better. Stay in this one! Be brand new in Jesus' name:
Jesus gave you a new heart. Oh, you thought you had two hearts? No, my child of God. One heart. It's new, it's not old. It's one, it's not two. It's tender towards God, not deceitful and rebellious. Uno. Not a small thing. A new, tender heart which walks humbly with God. New desires. Everyone around you unsaved needs this. Tell them about it and how to get it! (See Ezekiel 36:26.)
Jesus gave you much more than this. Jesus gave you a new mind. (See 1 Corinthians 2:16).You thought your thoughts were not his thoughts? Incorrect. You are mixing, that's a “no-no” according to Jesus. You have the mind of Christ, now. You know God's plan, purpose and perspective. Jesus no longer calls you servants, but friends. You are a son, a daughter. The son remains in the house forever. Amen?
Last one for now for our brief time together, today...
Jesus gave you a new nature. This is huge! People are likely telling you there are two natures in you. If you want to take a step of faith, trust God: you only have one, new divine nature. The Bible supports this intensely! A sinful nature—of which the early translations use “flesh”—is of Adam. Besides the physical body, it's also a spiritually dead person. Are you in Adam or in Jesus? You are new, are you not? You might say, “Body, sin in my members, I must have a sinful nature.” Christian, are you your body? C'mon now with all of this talk. God made you new! New heart! New mind! New nature! Your new body's coming, but remember: you are not your body! You live yet not you, Christ in you lives! The old you is dead if you belong to Jesus, according to God's Word.
Do you receive it like Abraham did—the father of all who “believe?” Say “Amen” and be established new!
