when most people think of the kingdom of God they think of streets paved with gold, happy smiley faces, no greed or hunger, ever lasting praise and rightousness. No more people wearing I have issues t shirts. we will also be-able to enjoy the sense of well being knowing that we are finally the people that God intended us to be.
However until that glorious day comes in which we will be free of our imperfections we are called by God to walk in faith and trust God to lead us into one degree of glory to another. God knows our weaknesses and also our strengths and through him the kingdom is alive and kicking within our souls and spirits. We might not quite be where we long to be, the streets may not be paved with gold and the sun maynot always be shinning in our lives but we press on towards the goal and wait patiently for when we will become full citizens of the kingdom of heaven and see the kingdom of God through the redeemers eyes.
I will end with a quote from the apostle Paul.
"I donít mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,d but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us."
